Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
In this session,
We are going to take some time and open up our heart center.
We have an enormous fountain of energy within us.
And just like how the sun is always shining,
Even if the sky is cloudy,
This energy is always present within us.
This energy is what fills us up with love,
With enthusiasm,
With delight in life.
But oftentimes we close our hearts without even realizing it.
We close it when we're frightened,
When we're hurt.
We close up as a way to protect ourselves from pain.
But eventually,
As we close up over and over again,
That becomes our norm.
It's like wearing a suit of armor so often,
You forget to take it off.
You forget that it can even come off.
So let's take a moment and let ourselves be freed from our own armor.
Take a comfortable seated position.
We are going to take three deep breaths in and out,
In and out.
If there are any points of tension in your body,
Take a moment and just send the breath there.
Let your whole body relax.
Imagine a ball of light above your head.
Every time you breathe in,
A little bit of the light enters your body and travels down to your chest.
And in your chest,
There is a flower bud,
Tightly closed.
Every time you take a breath,
The bud slowly begins to open.
As light continues to fill your chest,
The petals unfurl.
Slowly,
Slowly,
It blossoms into one of the most beautiful flowers that you've ever seen.
And as the final petals open,
You realize that the flower itself contains its own perfect ball of light.
It had been in your heart the whole time,
Just waiting to bloom.
The light from the flower sends energy all throughout your body,
Up to your head,
Through each of your arms,
Throughout your torso,
Down to each leg,
Until your whole body is vibrating with this joyful heart energy.
This energy is always available within you.
You don't need to put the armor back on.
As you become more aware of the energy of your heart,
You can notice when it begins to close up again.
Often,
It'll feel like a tightness or heaviness in the chest.
In those moments,
You can choose to just breathe.
Breathe into your heart center and let whatever feelings there are just pass,
Because they will pass,
And your heart will remain open and free.
