Anchoring our grid today in the warm sun-charged soil of Orlando,

Today we call upon the ecstatic rhythmic medicine of the Sufi breath,
Weaving it together with the ancestral wisdom of the Taino.
This practice is a sacred wind built to fan the inner fire of your soul,
Compost heavy energy,
And clear the fog.
Together we breathe to anchor you deep into the profound wisdom of the body,
The mind,
The spirit.
Because this medicine stirs up intense physical and emotional currents,

Today's technique is simple.
Two active short inhales through an open mouth,
First into the roots of your belly,
Then into the center of your chest,
Followed by exhale.
I want you to imagine filling up a balloon inside your belly on those inhales.
On the exhales,
I want you to imagine you are blowing out a candle,
Pushing out the exhales.
Like this.
For the next 15 minutes,
We will weave our breath together like a single tribe,
Matching the rhythm of the music and flowing into breath holds.
As we begin,
Focus entirely on keeping a steady,
Unbroken pace of the deep breaths.
Let your jaw go completely loose.
Feel the heavy weight of your body anchored into the ground as you lay down onto the lap of the Earth Mother.
Let's catch the same vibrational frequency and begin sacred mouth breathing in 5,

Feed the fire.

Exhale it out with a sigh of ancestral relief.
Empty the body completely.
Sink into the black soil and hold the breath for 30 seconds.
Feel your roots sunken deep into the soil.
Take a deep beautiful life-giving inhale in 3,

And right back into the rhythm.
Feed the fire.
You might start to feel the sacred medicine moving throughout your body.
Feeling it tingle in your hands,
Churning in your belly,
Expanding in your chest.
