
Yoga Nidra Guided Meditation Session For Chakra Balancing
In this practice, we will begin with a journey of relaxation, by gently scanning the body to release tension and invite a state of complete relaxation. From there, we will move through your chakras, starting with the grounding earth chakra, moving through the 7 primary chakras in the body, and concluding with the soul star chakra. Through this process and your intention, each energy center will be nourished and balanced, allowing the free flow of vital life force energy throughout your entire being. As you surrender to the soothing guidance, you will experience a profound sense of alignment and harmony within. When the session concludes, you will be invited to drift off into a peaceful slumber, knowing that you have harmonized your chakras and set the stage for deep transformation to occur in your life. Hello dear one and welcome to this guided yoga nidra.
My name is Kari J.
Mitchell-Polka and I will be your guide throughout this transformative journey where you are invited to enter a deep state of relaxation in order to balance and harmonize your primary chakras,
Your body's energy centers.
During this session I will guide you into a sacred space where you can gently release tension and awaken to a deeper connection with your true self.
While this session can be practiced at any time,
I encourage you to consider embarking on this journey before you drift off to sleep.
Doing so will provide the space for your autonomic nervous system to continue harmonizing throughout the night,
Providing an even deeper opportunity for healing and a most nourishing night of rest.
This practice is best done in the supine position of savasana and it is essential to be in a comfortable and safe environment.
So before we begin,
Ensure that you are dressed in cozy attire and are in a safe space where you can lie down undisturbed.
As you lay peacefully on your back,
You may choose to place pillows or a bolster under your knees or neck for added support.
And if desired,
You can cover yourself with a soft blanket for greater warmth.
If you need a moment to get ready and settled,
Go ahead and pause this session and do so now.
As we embark on this Nidra journey,
It is important to minimize any physical movements.
So as you lay on your back,
Take a moment to loosen any tight or constrictive clothing and adjust anything that might interfere with your total relaxation throughout our time together.
Now allow your body to rest in straight alignment from head to toe,
With your arms and legs slightly away from the body.
Keep the palms of your hands facing upward to promote an open and receptive state.
And when you feel ready,
Allow your eyes to gently close,
Inviting a soft,
Serene and gentle darkness to envelop your vision.
Allow your eyes to remain closed throughout the duration of this session,
Honoring this inward journey of relaxation,
Harmony,
Balance,
And ultimately self-discovery.
Now gently begin settling in.
Allow your breath to find its natural rhythm and begin to cultivate a sense of stillness within.
As you settle into this space of tranquility,
Let go of any external distractions and continue to turn your focus inward.
Trace this time dedicated solely to your well-being,
Where you can fully immerse yourself in the practice of yoga nidra.
Even though your eyes are closed and your body will likely become very,
Very relaxed,
Set an intention to remain awake and present throughout the entirety of the session.
While the invitation to drift off to sleep will be extended when the session concludes,
The primary goal is to encourage the body to enter a state of deep relaxation,
Your mind to soften and release,
While staying aware,
Still,
And fully present in the now.
By maintaining this wakeful awareness,
You can experience the profound benefits of this practice.
While the body rests and the mind stays aware,
This allows you to receive optimal and holistic nourishment.
Now let us formally begin by setting our sankalpa.
Setting a sankalpa or intention is indeed a significant step in the practice of yoga nidra.
It grants us the opportunity to release,
Achieve,
Or create something meaningful in our lives.
Your sankalpa should be a concise and clear phrase,
Which you will repeat to yourself either silently or out loud at least three times or more.
I invite you to let your sankalpa arise naturally without forcing or overthinking.
Simply be present in this moment,
Allowing your inner witness and guide to reveal what you truly need.
By remaining open and receptive,
Your heart and mind align and the perfect sankalpa will find its way to you.
Trust in the wisdom of your inner guide as it unveils the sankalpa that holds significance for your personal growth and transformation.
And once you know your sankalpa,
Embrace it wholeheartedly.
Allow this statement of intent to become a potent affirmation that will accompany you throughout this practice and beyond.
And now state it out loud or in your mind at least three times or more with full awareness,
Feeling,
And emphasis.
Now allow your sankalpa to drift away and gently turn your awareness to your breath.
Breathe deeply and slowly as you continue to listen to the sound of my voice.
We are about to embark on a journey of deep relaxation.
Relaxation is something that happens all by itself if you will let it.
Learning to relax is learning to allow relaxation to happen.
You may not know exactly how to relax,
But as you think relaxing thoughts,
Your body responds by letting go.
As you practice relaxation,
You will find that at different times you relax at different rates.
Sometimes relaxation occurs very slowly and subtly.
Other times you will relax very deeply,
Very quickly.
With practice,
You may notice that your ability to let go of tension and enter a state of deep relaxation becomes more effortless and natural.
And as you practice and learn to relax and let go of tension,
You may find numerous benefits such as becoming more resilient and able to overcome the stresses of everyday life.
Now as you continue to breathe deeply,
Imagine yourself releasing any tension or stress you feel in your body or mind.
As you breathe,
Truly allow yourself to let go and begin noticing the sensations of relaxation in your body and mind.
Invite yourself to surrender to this moment.
Breathing deeply,
Breathing slowly.
Let your mind to soften,
Allowing thoughts to arise and pass without judgment.
Maintaining a gentle awareness while observing the sensations and emotions that emerge without analysis.
You might like to know that as you relax,
You need not lose awareness of your surroundings.
Just as a sleeping mother can ignore traffic sounds all night,
Yet awaken at the first soft murmur of her infant child,
Your subconscious mind can monitor your surroundings,
Allowing you to relax in safety.
You can allow outside sounds and noises to be in the background of your awareness,
Since they are of no importance at all to you now.
Knowing this,
You can begin to relax even more by taking deeper and slower breaths.
In a moment,
We will scan the body for tension in order to release,
Let go,
And find an even deeper state of relaxation.
As you breathe in,
Imagine filling your body and mind with clean,
Fresh air and energy.
As you breathe out,
See yourself releasing tension and discomfort.
Just imagine any tension softening and leaving your body with the breath.
No need to force it,
Just visualize it and see it.
Breathing in,
Cleansing energy,
And breathing out,
Tension.
Good.
Now bring your awareness to your whole body.
Feel the weight of your body against the surface that you are resting on.
As we scan the body from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes,
Slowly move along,
Following my directions and the sound of my voice,
Bringing your awareness to each part of your body.
As you focus on each part,
Give it permission to release any resistance,
To relax and fully let go of any tension you may be holding.
Now bring your awareness to the top of your head,
To your forehead and temples.
Notice if there is any furrowing or tightness and consciously release the muscles.
Breathing deeply and allowing your forehead to become smooth and relaxed.
Move your attention to your eyes and the muscles around your eyes.
Let go of any strain or tightness,
Allowing your eye muscles to relax completely.
Now bring your awareness to your jaw.
Breathing deeply,
Allow your jaw to unclench and release any tension.
Feel your jaw becoming loose and relaxed,
Creating space and ease in your entire face.
As you breathe deeply and slowly,
This wave of relaxation moves down,
Down to your neck and your shoulders.
Bring your awareness to the space in your body and notice any tightness or discomfort.
With each deep breath,
Imagine the tension melting away like warm sunlight permeating through your muscles.
Allow your shoulders to drop and your neck to feel supple and relaxed.
Feeling at ease and calm with your body as it relaxes.
Continue to guide your awareness down through your arms,
Into your hands and your fingertips.
Feel a gentle sense of relaxation spreading through your arms and each finger.
Releasing any tension and letting go of any gripping or resistance.
Now notice the gentle rise and fall of your breath as it supports your relaxation.
Feel the weight of your body melting into the surface below.
And slowly shift your attention to your chest and torso.
Feel the gentle expansion and contraction of your breath in this area.
And allow any tension in your chest to dissolve,
Creating space for deeper and deeper relaxation.
With each breath,
Imagine your heart center opening,
Radiating warmth and compassion.
Helping you to feel more at ease and in love with life.
Now bring your awareness to your abdomen and lower back.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your belly as you breathe.
Melting even more into the surface below and allowing any tightness or discomfort in this area of your body to soften and release.
Feel a sense of deep relaxation and ease washing over your entire mid-body.
Now drift your attention to your lower back,
To your hips,
Pelvis and buttocks.
Allow the muscles in this area of your body to relax completely with each deep breath.
Feel the tension releasing and invite in a sense of spaciousness and comfort.
Feeling calm,
Relaxed and in a state of deep peace.
Now guide your awareness down through your thighs,
Your knees and your calves.
Feel the weight of your legs supported by the surface beneath you.
Allow your thigh muscles to relax and your knees to soften and release.
Sense any tension melting away from your calves,
Leaving you with a profound sense of relaxation.
Gently drift your awareness down to your feet and your toes.
Feel a wave of relaxation flowing through each foot,
Releasing any tension from the soles,
Arches and toes.
Feeling calm and at ease as the space in your body fully releases and relaxes.
Feel your body melting into the surface below.
Feel your body completely relaxed.
Feel the whole of your body all at the same time and invite your whole body to enter an even deeper state of relaxation.
Inviting each muscle to continue to unwind and release any resistance.
And release any residual tension.
Encourage your mind to let go of any thoughts or concerns and simply be present in this moment of relaxation.
Feel the soothing effects as your body and mind become more and more relaxed and at peace.
Surrender to the rhythm of your deep breath and allow it to guide you deeper into relaxation.
Allow it to guide you deeper into relaxation as you melt into the surface below.
In this space of tranquility,
Allow yourself to fully surrender,
To fully let go.
And now for a moment,
Simply rest in this state of deep relaxation.
Feeling the whole body at ease,
Allowing any remaining tension to dissolve with each breath and embracing a profound sense of calm and well-being.
That arises from this state of deep relaxation.
Now as your body continues to relax and your mind remains aware,
We will begin balancing and harmonizing the chakras,
The body's energy centers.
So at this time,
I invite you to visualize yourself lying comfortably on the surface that your body rests upon.
Observe your body as if you are viewing it from the outside.
And gently direct your awareness to the space beneath your feet and see a swirling vortex of light opening.
This is your Earth Star Chakra,
The energy center that connects you with the grounding and nurturing energies of the Earth.
As you focus your awareness on this energetic vortex,
Visualize it expanding and radiating a vibrant sphere of protection and healing light that envelops your entire being.
Allow this sphere of light to create a sense of safety and stability within you and all around you.
Take a moment to breathe deeply and embrace the feeling of being rooted and connected to the Earth,
Allowing the Earth's energy to flow harmoniously through you.
Feel the nurturing energy of the Earth and feel as this energy provides a solid foundation to support your journey through the body's energy centers.
Now,
Observe from within the Earth Chakra a brilliant light Observe from within the Earth Chakra,
A brilliant green stem emerges and begins to rise up from the Earth.
Notice that all along the stem,
There are several leaves of exquisite green hue.
These leaves are perfectly shaped,
Adorned with glistening dew drops that shimmer like precious pearls.
Visualize as this stem continues to grow and rises through the very base of your spine,
Reaching the point where it meets your root chakra and first energy center.
In your mind's eye,
See this center as a vibrant and pulsating red lotus flower.
Observe the four exquisite petals of this lotus,
Radiating a warm and fiery energy that emanate from its core.
Take a moment to behold the beauty and power of this lotus as it represents the essence of your physical strength,
Vitality,
And the passionate energy that propels you forward in life.
As you focus on your root chakra,
Feel a deep sense of groundedness and stability,
Permeating your entire being.
Sense the connection between this energy center and the Earth as it draws in the nurturing energy from the Earth's core and channels it through your body.
