And you weren't going to do anything this morning,

But it's sunny and you can't waste the sunshine.

So as you take a deep breath in,

And you open your curtains and you see the sunshine and you feel it light up your face,

You realise the sea's calling and you have to go.

So you quickly get dressed and you run downstairs and you grab whatever it is you want,

Whether it's a dog or a drink or something to eat or a towel,

Whatever you feel you want.

And then you head down to the beach as quickly as you can.

And once you're at the beach,

There's that familiar seaside smell.

Slightly ozony and slightly salty,

All mixed together in the perfect ratio.

And you hear the waves gently lapping.

It's a calm day and it's calm and beautiful.

And the sun is shining off the sea.

You walk along the beach for a minute,

Until you get to your favourite little spot.

And it's a little cove and it's protected on three sides by white,

Chalky rocks.

So even when it's windy,

You can come and sit here and feel the sun on your face.

And it's your favourite place in the world.

And you walk down to the water's edge and you pop down your stuff,

Maybe roll out a towel or a beach blanket.

And you just sit down for a minute and look at the sea,

Listening to the lapping on the shore.

And you hear the seagulls squawking and fighting.

And that smell,

That smell just makes you feel alive and safe and really happy.

And it's warm,

So maybe you've got a swimsuit on.

You leave your belongings and you start to walk towards the water.

And then you start playing that game that we all play,

Where you stand where the sand is wet,

Knowing that the sea is going to come and tickle your toes and make you feel a little bit cold and tingly.

And so it does.

So you do feel that.

And then you inch in a little bit more until your ankles are feeling cold and tingly.

And a little bit more until your knees are feeling cold and tingly.

Oh,

And then you get to the bit that makes you go,

Ooh,

Ooh,

Ooh.

And then you decide to act like a dolphin and just throw your head in and under and get your whole self immersed in the beautiful,

Salty,

Wild ocean.

You hear bubbles and you hear some stones being pushed backwards and forwards by the motion of the sea.

And you hear your arms swimming.

And you feel held.

You feel at one,

You're grounded.

And in this moment,

You think,

This is why I'm alive,

To feel this with my whole self.

And you open your eyes in the water and you see a little fish,

Just one tiny little fish made of what it seemed like silver.

And the fish comes right up to your face and poops you on your nose.

Tiny little fish.

Not harmful,

Just playing,

Just wanting some attention.

And it makes you smile and you have to lift yourself out of the water so you can breathe.

And it felt like a special interaction.

So you take a deep breath and you go back under the water.

And then you notice five fish and they all come up to you like they want to talk to you.

And you put your hand out and they start sucking your hand out.

And you feel them sucking your fingers,

Wanting to play,

Wanting to be a part of your world.

And then when you need to,

You come up for air again and take another breath.

Go back down and this time,

There's at least a hundred fish.

You cock out and there's so many.

And they're swimming around you like you're a maypole,

Swimming in the same direction.

It feels like they're making a beautiful dress for you.

And you just watch them play.

And when you need to,

You come up for another breath.

And when you go back down,

There's at least a thousand fish.

So many fish,

You don't know where they end.

There's so many fish,

There could be a million.

There's so many fish,

There could be a billion.

You don't know.

You're surprised by all these fish and they just want to play with you.

And they just want to hang around you.

And they just want to interact with you.

So you put your arms out and you let them play and you let them jump and frolic.

And then when it's time to take another breath,

You come up and you look down and you can see them all around you in the sea.

And a few of them are just popping up and jumping out of the sea and jumping back in again.

They all seem so happy to have found you.

It's as if they've been looking for you for a really long time.

And whatever you've given them,

You might not be very sure.

But suddenly they seem really satisfied that they've had what they needed from you.

And they've started to dissipate and swim away.

And you say to them,

Come back another day and we'll do this again.

And a few of them jump out and back in the water as if they understood what you were saying.

And as you start to walk out of the water and feel gravity again,

You can't help but think,

That was a little bit of a sign.

And you go back to your belongings,

Take out a notepad and you write yourself a little note of what you think that sign was.

And you write it now.

What do you remember?

What do you remember?

And then you make a note to remember your note because sometimes you can forget them.

And when you come out from this dream,

You'll remember your note and you'll write it down.

You can feel the sun drying your body and the traces of salt on your skin make your body feel crinkly.

And you can feel your hair starting to dry.

And you take a lovely,

Big,

Deep breath in and out.

And you drift off on the beach because you don't need to be anywhere right now.

And as you drift off,

You come back into this world and you wriggle your toes and you wriggle your fingers.

You open your eyes and in real life,

You write down your note of what the meeting with the fish meant.

What a beautiful way to start the day. Shazzie has such a restful and calming voice and being hand-held into such a soothing yet positive energy, visualising the strength of the sea to start my day, was nothing less than magical ✨
