Hello and welcome to this short guided meditation.
My name is Sean.
I am part of the Mystic Village with Brother Tenet,
Sister Emily here on Insight Timer.
Today I will be guiding you through the importance of why we meditate,
Why meditation is so important to us.
I want you to begin by finding a comfortable and quiet place to sit or lie while you enjoy the next 10 minutes,
Reminding ourselves that how we meditate is not always as important as simply just meditating.
One of the hardest parts of meditation is just doing it each and every day.
So when you are ready,
Close your eyes,
Take a few deep breaths in and out,
Allowing your body to relax,
Letting go of any tension that may be built up.
As we continue I want you to focus not only on your breath but also my words.
Use them as a reminder to remember why you are here,
Why you come to this sanctuary.
Meditation is your sanctuary.
It is your refuge from the whirlwind that is life.
It's the precious moment you give yourself each and every day to release stress and find that inner peace within you.
As you breathe in and out I want you to picture the weight of your worries lifting off your shoulders.
With each breath you get lighter and you embrace this relaxation and tranquility.
Meditation offers much more than just a break from the chaos of life.
It's also a pathway to mental clarity and focus in a world that is filled with distractions.
It's easy to lose sight of what truly matters in our lives.
Meditation helps us to sharpen our mind,
Declutter our thoughts and open the door to our creativity and better problem-solving.
Consider if you will the profound impact that meditation has already had on your life.
The impact that it has had on your body,
Allowing it to become calm,
Giving you more physical well-being,
Improving sleep,
Lowering your blood pressure,
Strengthening your immune system.
Take a moment to simply appreciate the health and vitality that it also brings into your life.
Meditation not only has the power to nurture your physical well-being but also your emotional health.
It offers a space,
A space of safety for self-compassion,
Self-love and self-discovery.
By becoming more aware of who you are,
Your emotions,
Your thoughts and your reactions to these things,
You can learn to regulate and bounce back from any challenge that life may bring your way.
It also encourages a positive outlook.
It nurtures gratitude and increases your empathy towards yourself and others.
In our fast-paced world we are constantly connected,
Yet we often feel very disconnected from ourselves.
Meditation is the pathway to mindfulness,
An invitation to be fully present in the moment,
Because the moment is truly all we ever really have.
It's a practice that deepens your relationships and fosters genuine connections with yourself and others.
Finally,
Meditation is a journey within,
A deep exploration of your inner world,
A chance to discover who you are,
What you want to become,
Your dreams,
Your aspirations that lie deep within and that life may have suppressed for a long time.
Through this journey of meditation,
You experience personal growth,
Transformation.
When we go deep within,
We find our true self.
It can be difficult to find time for meditation,
Especially in our busy lives,
But I want you to remember that it's not always as important as how you meditate.
What is truly important is that you simply attempt to do it each and every day.
It shouldn't require hours.
The benefits of meditation can be felt within a few moments.
Whatever you can give yourself each and every day is better than nothing at all.
We have a saying that goes,
The only bad meditation is the one that you do not do.
So as you continue to focus on your breath and think about the words that have been spoken here today,
I want you to give gratitude to yourself,
Your loved ones,
The world around you,
Because you took the time,
You were allowed the time to be here with me today and that means a lot.
I encourage you to take meditation with you each and every day.
Make it a part of your daily routine,
Even if that is just a few minutes each day.
You will experience transformative power that meditation has to offer,
If you take it seriously.
Take one last deep breath now.
When you are ready,
Slowly begin to open your eyes,
Wiggle your toes,
Your fingers.
I want you to carry this sense of inner peace and understanding of yourself and the power of meditation with you into the world.
Thank you so much for joining me on this journey of self-discovery and well-being that is meditation.
I hope you come join me again.
Namaste friends.
