Hello,
I'm Satine Starr,
And you're here because you're experiencing writer's block.
And through this meditation,
We're going to work together to clear that block and get you back on track to writing and letting that creativity fully blossom.
Writer's block is not about having nothing to say.
It's about fear of saying the wrong thing.
Today we're releasing that fear and reconnecting with your true voice.
So find a comfortable spot.
You may sit or lay down,
Whatever you prefer.
And let's take three deep breaths.
Inhale with me,
Hold,
And release.
Let's do that again,
Inhale and exhale.
One last time,
Deep breath into our chest and belly,
Hold for four count,
And exhale.
Now when you're ready,
Go ahead and let your eyes flutter shut or let your gaze soften.
The block is perfectionism.
The fear that what you write won't be good enough.
But here is the truth.
Your first draft doesn't have to be perfect.
It just has to be written.
So,
I want you to repeat after me,
And you may do this in your mind or out loud.
I give permission to myself to write badly.
I give permission to myself just to get it out.
And feel the relief that comes with that saying.
Feel the pressure come off of your shoulders and really focus on what that means.
It's always important to connect with yourself and remember the why of why you write.
So,
Why do you write?
Not for money or recognition.
Why did you start?
What caused that spark inside of you that led you to writing?
Maybe it's because you have something to say.
Maybe it's because writing helps you make sense of life.
Or maybe it's because you have stories inside of you waiting to get out.
Stories that need to be told.
Stories that need to be shared.
I want you to sit for a moment and remember that reason.
That why.
Because,
That is your anchor.
And that is what's going to re-spark your desire and unblock your block.
Now,
Imagine with me that your fingers are on a keyboard or that your pen is in hand.
And imagine that the words are already inside of you.
You don't have to create them.
You just have to transcribe them.
Take a deep breath.
And go write.
Even if it's bad.
Even if it's messy.
Just write.
And let that energy flow through you.
Without having to control it,
Judge it,
Or contain it.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
I hope that this meditation helps you get back to flowing and writing creativity.
And that you are able to move forward with your ideas and your stories.
And if you ever experience this kind of block again,
You are always welcome to return to this meditation to help you remember why it is that you started writing in the first place.
I'm sending you many blessings and I hope to speak with you again soon.
