Chanting is an incredibly powerful practice that can help foster a deep-rooted sense of connection to God, Source, Atman. We always chant on the exhale. In Tantra, we believe that everything and everyone is a divine being; there is no separation between us and divinity.

Sat Naam,

Welcome to this Tantric practice.

During this practice we're going to send our salutations to Lord Shiva by chanting Om Nama Shivaaya.

Om is the sound that connects all of us and everything,

The first sound of the universe.

Nama means to bow,

To surrender,

And Shivaaya is Shiva,

The Hindu God.

This mantra,

This chant is about connection,

Adoration,

Knowing that we are no different.

We are all the same.

We are all divine beings in the human experience.

I invite you to take a few moments to get ready,

Preferably in a seated position with a long spine and your eyes closed,

With your hands in a prayer posture,

Thumbs connecting with the breastbone.

Now take some nice big breaths,

Any way that feels right for you.

We're using our breath to arrive ready for our practice,

Waking our mind and body up,

Coming into the present moment.

We always chant on the exhale.

We take a nice big inhale and as we exhale we chant Om Nama Shivaaya.

Chanting with everything you've got,

With your whole heart,

Knowing that this prayer,

This salutation will be heard.

Take a nice big inhale and on the exhale we chant Om Nama Shivaaya.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Relaxing all your efforts.

Keeping your hands in prayer.

Taking some time to just simply be.

To sense,

To feel His grace,

His presence.

Now gently and softly coming back to your body.

Rubbing your palms together.

Building some friction,

Some heat.

Place your hands in front of your eyes.

Feel the warmth.

Now gently and softly start to open your eyes.

Taking time to get used to the light in the room once again.

Now gently and softly sinking your hands to a prayer posture.

And bow to yourself.

Honor your practice.

Sat Naam.

This practice is now complete.
