This guided chanting meditation takes you on a journey, starting with the down-regulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, leading to conscious breathing and gentle recitation of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo out loud as we exhale. This practice is deeply calming, and grounding, and creates a sense of expansiveness deep within our chest. This practice is enhanced with delta waves for deep relaxation and feelings of rejuvenation. It's best to wear headphones for an immersive experience. Please avoid listening while driving or operating heavy machinery. What is Nam-myoho-renge-kyo? When we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, we are awakening to the Buddha nature within ourselves and in others. This practice is based on the belief that we all possess wisdom, courage, and compassion to overcome life's challenges. By chanting this phrase, we are expressing faith in our innate enlightened nature and breaking through the fundamental ignorance that causes suffering in our lives.

Sat Naam.

Welcome to this chanting meditation.

Take a few moments to get really comfortable.

In a seated position on the floor,

On a bolster,

In a chair,

It doesn't matter.

Just find a nice comfortable seated position.

Bringing your palms together,

Connecting your thumbs with your breastbone.

Now bringing your awareness to your breath.

Breathing through your nose if possible.

Breathing into your belly,

Long,

Full,

Steady inhales and long,

Full,

Steady exhales.

We're using our breath to help down-regulate our parasympathetic nervous system,

Allowing us to feel calm,

Connected,

At one,

A state of receptive flow,

Your full awareness on your breath.

In a few moments,

We'll begin to chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

We chant this as we exhale,

Continuing to take long,

Full,

Steady breaths,

Chanting out loud on the exhale,

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.

Let's inhale to begin.

At the top of your next inhale,

Surrender all of your efforts completely,

Keeping your eyes closed,

Your palms together,

Keeping your eyes closed and your body still.

Bring your awareness back into the room,

Back into the space around you,

Bringing your awareness back into your body.

Slowly start to open your eyes,

Taking a few moments to get used to the light once again.

Sat Nam.
