Hi,
My name is Sandhya.
Welcome to this overthinking meditation for calming the mind.
If you've had a busy day and your thoughts are still racing,
This practice will help you pause and reset.
We'll use a breath and a simple visualization to slow overthinking and create space and stillness within.
Let this moment be your time for self-care and kindness before you rest.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Begin by inhaling through the mouth,
Through the lips,
Which are gently parted.
And out through the nose.
Feel the abdomen rising as you breathe in through the mouth,
Releasing as you breathe out through the nose,
In through the mouth,
Belly rising.
And out through the nose.
Each breath in,
Filling the belly.
Each breath out,
Softening.
Giving yourself permission to pause.
Permission to be.
Nothing to do in this moment.
No list to finish.
No problem to solve.
Just stay here with your body,
Your breath,
The gentle awareness of this moment.
If your mind feels busy,
Imagine your mind like a snow globe that has just been shaken.
Thoughts swirl,
Tumble and rush in every direction.
But as you focus on your breath,
Breathe deeply and slowly,
The snowflakes begin to drift downward.
One by one,
They soften their movement.
Settling down toward the ground,
A calm stillness begins.
Silently remind yourself,
I give myself permission to pause and be still.
I give myself permission to pause and be still.
I give myself permission to let go.
I give myself permission to let go.
Resting in the beauty of stillness.
The spaciousness of simply being.
Bring a soft awareness back into the room around you.
Noticing any sounds,
The clothes against your skin.
Deepening the breath.
And in your own time,
Gently opening the eyes.
