Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable or maintain a soft downward gaze a few feet in front of you.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Hold it for a moment and then exhale slowly through your mouth.
Allow your breath to begin guiding you into a state of relaxation.
Feel your body settling into the surface beneath you,
Supported and at ease.
Take two more slow deep breaths at your own pace.
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm as you bring your awareness to this moment,
Centering yourself in the here and now.
Visualize yourself on a small deserted island surrounded by clear,
Inviting water.
This island is a sanctuary untouched by time.
Imagine the gentle waves of water lapping at the shore,
Their rhythmic sound bringing you peace.
The soft sand beneath you is warm.
Feel the earth beneath your feet supporting you.
This island is safe,
A place where you can rest and rejuvenate.
You may notice feelings of sadness,
Anxiety or isolation lingering in your mind.
These emotions may feel heavy like a weight on your chest.
Visualize these feelings of sadness,
Anxiety and worthlessness as dark clouds floating above you.
Slowly,
With each exhale,
Imagine the clouds dissipating,
Carried away by the gentle breeze.
As the clouds fade,
Feel the lightness return to your body,
The heaviness lifting from your heart and mind.
You are not your loneliness.
Just as the clouds pass,
So too can these feelings.
Let them go,
Releasing them into the air.
Now imagine the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Feel the nourishing energy of the sun soaking into your body,
Revitalizing your cells and restoring your strength.
Imagine this warmth flowing into your heart,
Relaxing your body and soothing any physical tension or discomfort.
With each breath,
Feel your heart rate slow and your body relax as if the energy of the island is healing your mind,
Body and spirit.
In this safe space,
Allow yourself to reconnect with the deepest parts of who you are.
Imagine the island as a reflection of your inner world.
A world where you are whole,
Where there is no need to hide or defend.
Visualize yourself interacting with other beings on the island,
Perhaps animals or trees,
Exchanging energy and feeling the natural flow of connection.
These moments are gentle and nurturing,
Reminding you that you are capable of connection.
Feel the joy of simply being present where words are not needed to communicate and the bond is deeply felt within.
Let this connection fill you with warmth,
Knowing that you are never truly alone.
Now walk towards a small tranquil lagoon on the island.
The water is sparkling in the sunlight.
As you approach the water's edge,
Notice that it holds a healing energy.
Imagine that the lagoon can help release any unhealthy coping mechanisms that you may have developed in response to loneliness.
It could be overeating,
Substance abuse or excessive screen time.
Place your hands into the water and feel its soothing touch.
See the water transforming any negative habits into energy that is healing and uplifting.
Imagine the water washing away the need for unhealthy coping,
Replacing it with peace and mindfulness.
Allow the water to cleanse you,
Leaving you feeling lighter and more at ease.
Slowly begin to awaken from this meditation and bring your awareness back to your breath.
Begin to gently move your fingers and toes.
