Heaven Emergency

I offer a two-word plea in this audio. It's not the be-all or end-all. It's not even close to a simple answer to all your troubles. And it's certainly not a substitute for professional help. But it is a balm. A potential relief for deeply unsettled moments. It definitely helped me. And I hope it helps you too.

Hi there,

This is Rita Morton with Sacred Sorrows and I'm really grateful that you're here and there's something extremely important that I want to share with you.

It is the most important thing that helped me in my path of grief and that continues to help me and it is a two word prayer that I take recourse to when things are at their absolute worst.

And that two word prayer is heaven emergency.

Emergency heaven,

Heaven,

Heaven emergency,

Hey heaven,

Heaven emergency,

Emergency,

Emergency heaven,

Heaven,

Heaven come on,

Heaven,

Emergency,

Emergency heaven.

I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that I have screamed this prayer.

I have been on the floor on my face in tears that honestly create a puddle and you know that there is truth in what I tell you.

And the only thing that helped me were the words heaven emergency,

Heaven emergency,

Emergency heaven and I have had moments since my son Chad died in 2019 where these were the only words that I could say,

Where I have thought I was going to lose my mind,

Where I didn't know how I would get up off the floor.

I didn't know how I would ever think straight again.

I didn't know if there would ever be a time when I could put together my thoughts or I wouldn't be walking around in circles not knowing what I was doing,

What I had been doing and what I was doing next and when I didn't know if I would ever not stutter again.

And then the only two words,

The prayer,

The primal desire rose up within me and it was heaven emergency,

Emergency heaven,

Heaven,

Heaven,

Heaven,

Emergency,

Emergency heaven.

This is the prayer of my heart that has saved me.

And I will pray it right along with you in spirit.
