It's completely natural to feel nervous before a meeting or a presentation,
And this short reset will help you calm your nerves and bring you back to centre.
Finding a quiet space,
Or simply stay where you're at.
You can be seated or standing.
Let your feet connect with the floor.
Soften your shoulders,
Rest your hands in your lap or by your sides,
And now take a deep breath in through your nose,
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
Again breathing in slow and steady,
Exhaling soft and long,
And let's do that one more time.
Inhaling in the sense of calm,
And exhaling any feelings of tension.
Now gently bring your attention to your body.
Notice where you might be holding the nerves,
Maybe it's in your chest,
Your stomach or your jaw,
And there's no need to judge it.
Just notice it,
Just be aware,
And with every exhale I want you to invite a little softening into your body,
And you might say to yourself quietly or in your mind,
I am safe,
I am steady,
And I can handle this.
Now take a moment to visualize yourself in the meeting,
Calm,
Clear,
Grounded,
Speaking with ease and listening with presence,
Trusting that you don't need to be perfect,
Just present.
Let your breath anchor you into that steady place,
And repeating silently in your mind,
I don't need to have all the answers,
I can show up as myself,
I am prepared enough,
And I am enough.
Take one final deep breath in,
And exhale with a soft sigh,
Gently bringing your awareness back to the room,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
And open your eyes if they were closed.
You're ready to show up,
Calm,
Capable,
And grounded.
