This meditation is best practiced in a seated position with your feet planted firmly on the floor. This is a great meditation for balancing the analytical and artistic mind, and helping your system process changes and information coming through. Music by Pixabay.

Transcript

Get yourself in a comfortable seated position with your back supported and your feet flat on the floor.

Tap your heels out a little bit,

Shake your limbs,

Move your fingers a little.

Just shake out any nerves running through your body.

And once you've done this,

Just let your eyes close and let your breathing find a natural rhythm.

Feel the sensation of a slight pull from the top of your head.

So your neck stretches upward just a little bit,

Tilting your chin further down towards your chest.

You may even feel a slight tug on your eyebrows.

Pay attention to any sensations you feel.

And with your head in this position,

I want you to imagine that your skull is actually a clear fishbowl.

The top of your head being the opening of the fishbowl,

With water right to the rim.

And see if you can feel the cool air on the water's surface at the top of your head.

This may take a second,

Just play with it,

See what sensations you're feeling.

Once you can see or get a feel for this water in the fishbowl,

I want you to very gently let your head rock back and forth however it wants to.

And feel the weight of this water traveling from side to side in the fishbowl.

Washing and balancing everything inside your head.

Are there any shapes that your head is making?

Any angles back and forth?

You may feel drawn to let your head hang toward one side.

Just pay attention to the shifting weight.

And how your body will naturally find its balance.

And just continue breathing in and out naturally.

Until you feel this rocking and the water inside the fishbowl start to calm.

And your head rest in a centered balanced position.

Look and see that there's no more ripples on the surface of the water.

What does the water look like in the fishbowl?

There may be sediment,

There may be algae,

It may be crystal clear.

Just notice it.

And move your awareness to the base of your skull.

The bottom of the fishbowl.

I want you to take in a good deep breath.

And imagine that there is a plug at the bottom of this fishbowl.

And we're going to open it and let it drain.

Feel the pressure flushing from your head.

Down your spinal column.

Into your chest cavity.

Feel it in your back and shoulders.

Rushing down your arms into your fingertips.

Washing through your abdomen,

Your pelvis,

Down your legs.

Swirling around your knees,

Down your calves.

Into your feet,

The tips of your toes.

And watch the soil beneath your feet.

Begin to form with puddles from water releasing.

Recognize any differences you're feeling in your body.

The speed or pattern of your thoughts.

And spend as much time as you like just sitting in this space.

And when you're ready,

You can open your eyes.
