Take a moment to find a comfortable position,

Whether you are seated or laying down ready for sleep,

Bring a sense of presence,

And take a moment to find a place that is comfortable where you can hopefully come to stillness.

Whether you are sitting down or laying down,

You can elongate your spine,

Relax your shoulders,

Relax your face,

Relax your eyebrows,

Feel the relaxation melt through the rest of your body,

Take a breath in,

And a breath out.

Today we will explore the concept of ahimsa,

Ahimsa is one of the five yamas,

The five internal contemplations in yogic philosophy.

With ahimsa we contemplate non-violence,

We can look at this many different ways from many different perspectives,

And one of the most popular ways,

Ways in which we can practice ahimsa is through non-violence to yourself and to others,

Acknowledging and releasing negative thought patterns,

Judgement or self-criticism,

Fostering kindness,

Love,

Compassion and understanding.

Today I will recite a number of affirmations that reflect ahimsa,

You are welcome to simply listen to these affirmations in your mind,

Perhaps you would like to write them down or to repeat them out loud or in your mind,

If you wish you can simply play this recording as you are falling asleep and allow the learning to integrate deep into your soul,

Whichever you choose to do is wonderful,
