Welcome.
Thank you for being here.
And for choosing to make yourself a priority today.
This is your Mandala Card of the Day.
A gentle pause to breathe.
Reflect.
And explore.
Before we begin.
I invite you to have a journal or blank page nearby.
Along with a pen.
This session includes time for journaling.
For now,
Allow yourself to settle in.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out,
Just this moment and this breath.
Let's begin by settling into this moment.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel at ease.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
Take a gentle exhale out through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale slowly.
And exhale fully.
With each inhale,
Breathe in openness,
Curiosity,
And wonder.
With each exhale.
Release the familiar.
The routine.
And the ordinary.
One more time,
Breathing in expansive and alive.
And breathing out slow and soft.
Now allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice the quiet space you've created.
Notice that you are here.
Present.
Fully aware.
Supported.
And open to what this moment might offer.
The theme for today is inspiration.
There are days when life feels full and vivid,
When something catches you,
Moves you,
Lifts you out of the ordinary.
And reminds you that the world is larger and more beautiful than your daily routine might suggest.
And then there are other days,
The flat ones,
The ones where you move through the hours on autopilot.
Go through the motions,
Waiting for something to shift.
Wondering where the aliveness went.
If today feels more like that second kind of day,
You're not alone.
And you're in exactly the right place.
Psychologist and researcher Datcher Kiltner.
Has spent decades studying the science of awe.
That particular quality of inspiration that arises when we encounter something vast.
Something that exceeds our current understanding.
Something that makes us pause.
We reconsider what we thought we knew.
What Keltner and his colleagues found changed how scientists understand human flourishing.
Awe,
It turns out,
Is not a luxury.
It is a biological need.
When we experience awe,
Something remarkable happens in the body.
Our sense of self quiets the mental chatter softens.
We feel more connected.
More generous.
More open to possibility.
Keltner's research shows that regular experiences of awe Reduce inflammation in the body.
Increase feelings of meaning and purpose,
And expand our capacity for creative thinking.
Awe literally changes our biochemistry.
And here is what makes this research so hopeful.
You do not need a mountaintop or a cathedral to access it.
Awe can be found in the ordinary.
In the sentence that stops you mid-page.
And a piece of music that opens something in you.
In an intricate pattern of art or a mandala.
In the way light falls differently at the end of the day.
Inspiration is not something that happens to you randomly.
It is something you can cultivate intentionally,
Gently,
Every single day.
I know this from my own experience.
Some of my deepest moments of inspiration come not from grand events or dramatic turning points.
They often come when I'm walking in the forest or sitting by a lake.
I also can find them in the pages of a great book.
When I read Maya Angelou,
Something opens.
Her words carry me into another world.
Broaden my perspective.
And remind me of what is possible.
When someone has the courage to express their full truth.
I finish a passage and feel different.
More awake.
More alive.
More willing to reach for something in my own work.
That I might otherwise have left unspoken.
Inspiration arrived not as a lightning bolt.
But as a quiet expansion.
A gentle reminder that the world is larger than my worries.
The beauty is available.
That something worth creating is waiting for me too.
That is what inspiration does.
It doesn't just move us emotionally.
It carries us forward.
It invites us to stop and notice what is wonderful in the world around us,
Whether that's nature,
Art,
The creativity of others.
The connection to someone.
The connection to a patch.
There are so many different ways that we can cultivate awe and gratitude.
If we stop and take the time to notice.
There is more here.
There is more in you and you are capable of more than you've yet allowed yourself to reach for.
You do not have to wait for inspiration to find you.
You can create the conditions for it to arrive.
You can read the words of someone who lived fully.
You can pause long enough to notice the beauty in something small.
You can allow yourself to be moved,
To be surprised,
To be lifted out of the familiar and into something that feels more alive.
Inspiration is not reserved for artists or poets or people with more time.
It is available to you.
Here.
In this moment.
In this practice.
In the simple act of pausing long enough to notice.
Take a moment now and bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale slowly.
And exhale gently.
Bring to mind something that recently moved you.
It could be something large or something small.
A sentence you read,
A piece of music.
A conversation that left you thinking.
A moment in nature.
Something someone created that made you feel something.
Let it come into your awareness.
Notice how it feels in your body to hold this memory.
Perhaps there's a sense of expansion in your chest.
A feeling of warmth or aliveness.
Perhaps a quiet longing for more of this.
Take a moment and soak in that feeling.
Let that feeling be your guide as we move into journaling.
Now I invite you to turn inward and explore this theme more deeply through journaling.
This is your journal prompt today.
What inspires me.
And when did I last let myself be fully moved by it?
You might also explore,
Where could I invite more awe and inspiration into my daily life?
What would change if I treated inspiration as a daily practice rather than a happy accident?
Allow your thoughts to flow without editing or judgment.
Simply let whatever wants to be expressed come onto the page.
It is time to gently bring your journaling to a close.
Take a slow breath in.
And a full breath out.
I'll share an affirmation now.
You can repeat it silently or out loud.
Letting the words settle within you I am open to beauty.
Wonder.
And the inspiration that surrounds me.
I am open to beauty,
Wonder,
And the inspiration that surrounds me.
I allow myself to be moved.
And in being moved,
I am called forward.
I allow myself to be moved.
And in being moved,
I am called forward.
Inspiration is available to me.
Here,
In this moment.
Inspiration is available to me.
Here in this moment.
Take one more breath.
Feeling open.
Expanded and alive.
Thank you for giving yourself this time today.
Each time you return to this practice,
You are strengthening your capacity to notice what is beautiful.
To allow yourself to be moved.
And to carry that aliveness with you into your day.
Inspiration is not something you wait for.
It is something you cultivate.
One mindful pause at a time.
Please return tomorrow for another Mandala Card of the Day with a new theme.
Until then,
Stay curious,
Stay open.
And let yourself be moved.
May your day be filled with wonder and joy.
And the quiet magic of an inspired life.
