Welcome.
Thank you for being here and for choosing to make yourself a priority today.
This is your mandala card of the day,
A gentle pause to breathe,
Reflect,
And explore.
Before we begin,
I invite you to have a journal or blank page ready,
Along with a pen.
This session includes time for journaling.
For now,
Allow yourself to settle in.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to figure out,
Just this moment and this breath.
Let's begin by arriving fully into this moment and settling in.
Gently close your eyes if that feels comfortable.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Let your hands rest wherever they feel at ease.
Take a slow breath in through your nose,
Counting softly to four.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
And gently exhale through your mouth for six.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six.
Again,
Inhale slowly for four,
And exhale fully for six.
With each inhale,
Breathe in warmth.
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing tension that you don't need to carry right now.
One more time,
Breathing in steady,
Calm,
Warmth,
And light,
And breathing out,
Long,
And soft,
Releasing tension,
Releasing stress.
Now,
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
Notice the quiet space you've created.
Notice that you are here,
Now,
In this moment,
Fully present,
Supported,
Loved.
From this grounded place,
We'll move into today's reflection.
The theme for today is compassion.
Compassion begins close to home.
It begins in the way you speak to yourself when things feel hard.
In the tone you use when you make a mistake.
In the patience you offer yourself when you're feeling tired or uncertain.
So often,
We are quick to extend understanding outward to friends,
Family,
Even strangers.
And yet,
We can withhold that same kindness from ourselves.
Compassion asks us to soften,
To remember that being human means being imperfect.
It means having good days and difficult days,
Clarity and confusion,
Strength and vulnerability.
When you offer yourself your own kindness,
Something shifts.
You create space,
Space to breathe,
Space to learn,
Space to grow without shame.
And from that space,
Compassion naturally extends outward.
Because when you recognize your own humanity,
You begin to see it everywhere.
In the person who's struggling,
In the person who's reacting,
In the person who is trying their best,
Even if it doesn't look perfect.
We are all navigating something.
We are all learning.
Compassion reminds us that beneath our differences,
Beneath our stories and circumstances,
We share the same basic longing to feel seen,
Safe and understood.
And when we remember that,
We soften towards one another.
Showing compassion is not weakness.
It is strength guided by love.
It is the quiet recognition that at our core,
We are connected.
We are not separate.
We belong to one another.
Now I invite you to turn inward and explore this theme more deeply through journaling.
Your journal prompt today is,
Where in my life,
Towards myself or someone else,
Could I offer a little more compassion?
Allow your thoughts to flow without editing or judgment.
Simply let whatever needs to be expressed come onto the page.
It's time to wrap up your journaling and bring this to a close.
As we come to the end of this practice,
I invite you to place one hand gently over your heart.
Take a slow breath in and a soft breath out.
I'll share an affirmation now.
You're welcome to repeat after me.
Repeat it silently or out loud,
Allowing the words to land in your body.
I offer myself kindness.
I offer myself kindness.
I honour our shared humanity.
I honour our shared humanity.
Compassion flows through me.
Compassion flows through me.
I am connected to something greater than myself.
I am connected to something greater than myself.
That closes the affirmation.
Take one more breath in,
Feeling grounded,
Supported and present.
And let your breath go.
Notice the softness within you.
Thank you for making space for compassion today.
Carry this gentleness with you.
