Let's begin.
Find your usual meditation position.
It could be that you're seated or you're lying down comfortably.
Keep the back straight,
Not too rigid,
And the eyes can gently close.
Take note of the breath,
Preferably through the nose.
Slow the breath right down.
About 5 seconds in and 5 seconds out.
I'll count you through it now.
Inhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Exhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Inhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Exhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Inhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Exhale,
2,
3,
4,
5.
Continue at that pace on your own,
More or less.
In this meditation,
Right here,
Right now,
Just know that you can let go of your roles,
Obligations,
Pressures,
Expectations.
All of these things can wait until after you've finished.
In this moment,
You don't have to be anyone.
This is your blank slate.
Keep the breath slow,
Steady,
Soft.
You don't have to be someone now.
Feel the pressure come off your shoulders.
Think of a tree,
An old,
Big,
Beautiful tree.
Dense,
Powerful,
Grounded,
Mature.
The essence of this tree is stillness,
Beingness.
You can adopt the essence of that tree right now.
Both you and the tree have been through a lot.
Rainy days,
Sunny days,
Stormy days,
But your essence remains unchanged.
You are powerful stillness.
As you breathe slowly and softly,
Take the essence of this majestic,
Still tree,
And move it through your body,
Through your hands.
Powerful oak,
Powerful walnut,
Powerful chestnut tree,
Whatever it is.
Infuse every cell of your body with this mature,
Powerful,
Grounded stillness.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
Softly notice how the colors around you are entering your awareness.
Well done.
