A life of self-mastery is in an ideal situation,
Every day you're living a yogic lifestyle that incorporates spirituality,
So mindfulness meditation,
But you're also living a healthy lifestyle.
Your food and diet is not too heavy,
It doesn't weigh down the body too much,
Because the more we eat and the heavier and denser the food is,
This feeds the material,
It's like it adds weight to you on a spiritual level.
Everything physically has a non-physical spiritual counterpart,
So the diet needs to be experimented with so that the diet is lighter and more ethereal,
Not too light because then you lose too much weight and you reject the physical body.
So you need to play around with your food,
Maybe hire a holistic nutritionist or hire a functional wellness specialist who can go into that with you.
Maybe you do some physical purification,
Keep the colon clean and empty,
Bowel movements are really important.
Someone earlier asked me about why is it important to go to the toilet to take a number two,
How does that relate to spirituality?
Well it's very intimately connected to spirituality.
If you wake up in the morning and you don't have a bowel movement,
So you don't go to the toilet,
Sitting down to meditate and having that focus and connection is a lot more difficult.
I know this through personal experience,
So I've been meditating since 2011,
So it's a very long time and if you meditate for a long time you'll begin to notice that the physical body,
The physical self has an intimate impact on your embodiment and spirituality.
If you eat a load of chocolate ice cream and if you eat two pizzas and if you drink five coffees you're going to be weighed down and you're going to be stimulated and to get that spirituality razor sharp and present it's very difficult.
So you've got the yogic lifestyle,
The nutrition,
It doesn't need to be perfect but there do need to be some kind of foundational basic principles in place.
And then on the non-physical side you need to bring into your life your spiritual essence and to do that you do need to practice mindfulness or meditation daily,
It's really important.
The ego will not want you to meditate,
The ego will tell you,
You don't need to meditate,
You don't need to meditate.
But the reality is that in the meditation there is no distraction,
It's just you,
Your awareness and ego.
And over time that egoic grip becomes looser and more and more of your spiritual essence is lived with.
