We have all heard the quote,
April showers bring May flowers,
Metaphorically to suggest that after a period of difficulty or hardship,
A period of happiness and joy will follow.
You are here right now,
My darling,
To bloom again after facing these rainy days and times you've been walking through lately,
Soaking you in hopes that the sun will rise again and bring you back to life.
Hi there,
I'm not so darling Tanya and welcome to Meditate in Style.
Life's not so darling moments don't stand a chance against stillness and a deep breath because peace,
My darling,
Is always in style.
So let's begin.
Find a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down.
Close your eyes gently or soften your gaze.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs with fresh air and slowly exhale.
Let's take another deep breath in.
Maybe you smell what's left of the rain in the air and the breath out as the warmth of the sun touches your skin.
This is bringing you warmth to settle into this moment,
Embracing stillness.
Life,
Much like the seasons,
Has its cycles.
We all experience times of warmth and sunshine,
But also times of rain and storm.
The showers of April may seem endless,
Skies heavy with clouds,
But they serve a purpose.
Without the rain,
The earth would not awaken.
Without the storms,
The flowers would not bloom.
As you breathe in,
Imagine the rain falling gently around you.
Each drop represents a challenge,
A hardship,
Or a time of uncertainty.
Maybe you've faced disappointments,
Losses,
Or struggles that felt overwhelming.
Just like the rain nourishes the soil,
These moments nourish your soul.
Breathe in this understanding and exhale any resistance.
Don't look at the gloom of the dark,
Heavy clouds.
Find that tiny opening where you can see a ridge of light from the sun through it.
Take a deep breath in and let it all out.
Now,
Visualize the earth soaking in the rain.
The roots of flowers hidden beneath the surface are drinking deeply,
Gathering strength.
You too are growing in ways unseen.
Even in the hardest moments,
Even when you feel soaked and saturated,
Buried beneath life's difficulties,
Know that you are being prepared for something beautiful.
What is it you feel?
As the rain begins to fade and that tiny bit of light you see has become even brighter,
And the clouds have opened and the sun hits the wet cement and you feel the steam around you and see the first hints of green pushing through the soil,
A tiny bud emerges reaching for the light.
This is you,
Resilient,
Strong,
And full of potential.
Every hardship has given you wisdom.
Every tear has watered your soil.
Every challenge has strengthened your roots,
Inviting the flowers to bloom.
See yourself standing tall,
Your heart open like petals unfolding.
You have weathered the storm and now you are blooming.
Your growth,
Your beauty,
Your strength,
All made possible by the rain.
Take a deep breath in and let it all out.
My darling,
Here is a quote I wrote for you.
Without rain,
Nothing grows.
My storms are the water that nourishes my soul and helps me bloom.
Now I ask you to sit for a bit in it.
What do you feel?
Do you feel the rain?
Do you feel the sun?
Do you feel them both?
Feel gratitude for both the storms and the flowers in your life.
Know that whatever season you are in,
It is leading you to something greater.
Soak it all in right here and right now.
As you've soaked all the rain and sun in your body,
It's ready to come back into your space.
But now it's filled with awareness,
Light,
And hydration.
Feel how this feels to you now than from when you began.
Let's take one final deep breath in and let it all out.
And when you're ready,
Slowly bring awareness back to your body,
Wiggling your fingers and toes,
Slowly opening your eyes.
Carry this new sense of peace and trust with you,
My darling,
Knowing that April showers always bring May flowers.
