What would a letter from your future self contain?

This question is something I frequently contemplate,

So I invite you to accompany me on a journey of self-expression.

Together we will explore my deepest thoughts as I read aloud a personal letter from my future self.

My intention is for this experience to inspire you to embark on a similar path of self-discovery.

Search for a gentle place to rest,

Inhale deeply,

And exhale fully.

Allow your body to relax while you maintain a slow breath.

Begin to observe the sensations in your body.

Notice the sense of softness.

I welcome you to open your ears and receive the words my heart has expressed envisioning my future self.

Hey there,

My not-so-darling self-proclaimed one.

It gives me a giggle while writing this because clearly I still don't take myself too seriously.

But I wanted to share with you how liberated I feel today.

I really hope you give yourself some props for playing a role in getting me to where I am now.

The journey here wasn't exactly a smooth ride.

You took risks and put yourself out there which wasn't a walk in the park,

But you persevered.

Even when you lacked confidence,

You followed your heart and pushed through all the self-doubt.

It wasn't easy-peasy,

But in the end it was all worth it.

It is okay to stand out,

But there is no need to suppress your uniqueness.

Being a late bloomer does not make you any less valuable.

Doing things in an unconventional way is also acceptable.

It is not necessary to conform in order to be relevant.

Don't be afraid to assert yourself and express your opinions even if you're worried about saying the wrong thing.

Release the burdens of high expectations and the fear of others' judgments.

It is alright to change and let go of past limitations.

You cannot control how others perceive you.

Darling,

Remember that this is your life,

Your story,

And your journey.

Follow your heart,

Knowing it will not be easy,

But it is worth attempting because you never know where it may lead you.

I love you more than words can say.

Thank you for making me a better person.

Having read my vulnerable letter,

Allow this sincere warmth to touch your soul and ignite inspiration within you.

If your future self were to write you a letter,

What message would it convey?

Breathe it in and let it out.

What would your future self say?

After inhaling deeply one last time,

Exhale slowly.

I strongly urge you to proceed with writing the letter and hold the words close to your heart in the coming days,

Weeks,

Or even years.

Hold that letter in your hand and in your heart,

And then re-read it over and over.

Reassure yourself you are on the right path.

Show yourself compassion for all the work you've done to be a better you.

You may not have been perfect at doing so,

But perfect is lame,

Remember?

If you feel prepared,

Unseal your eyes and begin writing.
