Hey darling,
If you've ever tried to be everything to everyone and still felt like you were falling short with somewhere along the way you forgot yourself in the process,
If you've worked so hard to make others proud that you forgot you were the one who needed your own praise,
Then this,
This right here is your moment,
Not to be perfect,
Not to be fixed,
But just to feel,
To breathe,
To remember and to reconnect,
To meet the girl you once were and the woman you're still becoming.
So I invite you now to find a comfortable position and soften your gaze or close your eyes if that feels good to you and take a deep breath in and slowly let it out,
Again breathe in deeply and exhale slowly,
Let your body soften,
Let your breath anchor you,
Let your heart begin to open even just a little.
Now imagine a warm familiar place from childhood,
Maybe it's your backyard,
The playground,
The porch at your grandma's house and there she is,
Your eight-year-old self,
She's not thinking about her to-do list,
She's not worried about who she's supposed to be,
She's just her,
Barefoot,
Curious,
Fully alive,
Maybe she's playing,
Maybe her sun-kissed skin is glowing,
Her hair tangled by the breeze,
Lightened at the ends by the summer sun,
You walk towards her,
She looks up,
She knows you,
She's been waiting for you,
Her eyes don't ask for perfection,
They just ask for presence,
You sit beside her,
Maybe she has a dandelion in her hand,
One she picked just for you,
Now,
Gently ask her,
What made you feel alive back then?
What did you love about being you?
What do you want me to remember?
Now listen closely,
Maybe she answers,
Maybe she cries,
And maybe she doesn't say anything but you feel her deep inside your chest,
Now say,
I see you,
I remember you,
I still carry you,
She hands you the dandelion,
A sign to keep going,
To follow your dreams,
To stop settling,
And to remember,
It's never too late,
It's always on time,
You blow gently on the dandelion,
As the fuzzy white seeds float into the wind,
You float with them,
Guided now toward your future self,
The energy shifts,
The air feels slower,
Deeper,
Softer,
Now imagine her,
Your 80 year old self,
Maybe she's sitting in a rocking chair on her porch,
Maybe she's by the ocean,
Toes in the sand,
Eyes on the horizon,
She's lived,
She's loved,
And she has let go,
And she looks at you with nothing but love,
Not for what you've done,
But for who you've become,
You sit beside her,
And you ask her,
What did I chase that didn't matter?
What mattered most?
What do you wish I knew now,
While I still have time?
Let her speak,
Let her truth move through you,
Let her words open something you've kept buried for too long,
Take a deep breath in through the nose,
And let it out through the mouth,
Feel your love for her,
For the child,
For the whole of you,
Because now they're all here inside of you,
See them now,
Both of them,
The 8 year old full of wonder,
And the 80 year old full of wisdom,
Right here in the middle,
You are the bridge between who you were,
And who you're becoming,
And both of them,
They are so proud of you,
Not for being perfect,
But for showing up,
For breathing,
For remembering what truly matters,
And for asking the hard questions,
Now I ask you to place your hands over your heart,
And say,
I live for the girl I was,
And the woman I'm becoming,
I won't waste this one beautiful life trying to be someone I'm not,
Now take a deep breath in,
And let it go,
Feel your heart beating,
The past,
The present,
And future versions of you,
Alive,
Centered,
And together,
Begin to return to your body,
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
And notice the space around you,
Darling,
Gently open your eyes,
