Hi,

It's JJ.

Welcome to day 8 of our 21-day meditation challenge for weight loss.

We are entering the second week of our journey and today's focus is on cultivating emotional balance.

Emotions play a significant role in our relationship with food and our overall well-being.

So today we will explore how to bring more balance into our emotional life.

Find a comfortable seated position either on a chair with your feet flat on the ground or cross the leg on a cushion.

Allow your spine to be straight yet relaxed and rest your hands gently on your knees or in your lap.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose.

Hold your breath for a moment,

Then exhale slowly through your mouth,

Releasing any tension.

Repeat this two more times and each time feeling more relaxed and centered.

Now gently bring your attention to your breath,

Noticing its natural rhythm.

As you continue to breathe,

Shift your awareness to your emotional state in this moment.

What emotions are present for you right now?

There is no need to judge or change anything.

Simply observe what you are feeling.

As you notice these emotions,

Name them silently to yourself.

I feel.

Whether it's stress,

Joy,

Anxiety or acknowledge each emotion as it arises.

Imagine your emotions as waves in the ocean.

Sometimes they are gentle and other times they may feel more intense.

Regardless of their strength,

Know that just like waves,

Emotions come and go.

They do not define you.

They are simply passing experiences.

As you breathe in,

Imagine drawing in calm and stability.

As you breathe out,

Let go of any emotion tension or overwhelm.

Picture yourself standing firmly on the shore.

Watching the waves of your emotions with a sense of peace.

And detachment.

If a particularly strong emotion arises,

Imagine sending it compassion and understanding as if you were comforting a friend.

Allow yourself to feel balanced,

Grounded and in control.

Even as the waves of emotion continue to add and flow.

Now that you've connect with and balance your emotions,

Take a moment to set an intention for emotional balance throughout your day.

It might be something like I navigate my emotions with calm and clarity or I honor my feelings without letting them control me.

Silently repeat your intention to yourself.

Letting it resonate throughout your entire being.

Feel this intention becoming a guiding force as you are throughout your day.

Now take a final deep breath in and feeling the calm and emotional balance you have cultivated during your day.

During this practice.

Exhale slowly bringing your awareness back to the present moment.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

Stretch if you need to.

When you are ready,

Open your eyes feeling centered,

Emotionally balanced and ready to continue your journey with renewed clarity.

Thank yourself for dedicating this time to your emotional well-being.

It's JJ.

I look forward to continuing this journey with you tomorrow for day nine.
