In this mini meditation,
I want to share with you four words that have so much meaning to me.
Recently my son who came home from college for the holidays said these four words to me and they've meant so much to me and I keep coming back to it.
It's like a little mantra.
These four words are I believe in you.
I believe in you.
So I want to pay it forward to you and let you know that I believe in you.
Because I know that we all have the potential to become what we dream of.
To live the life that means the most to us.
And I'm not just saying this in a flippant way.
We all have this possibility because we know now that neuroplasticity is a scientific fact.
It merely means that our brains can change itself depending on how we think,
What actions we take,
And the beliefs we have about ourselves and the world around us.
And whatever we choose to do more frequently on a regular basis,
Making it a habitual thing to turn our thoughts around,
To become compassionate when we feel frustrated with ourselves and others,
Or to take on the habit of exercising every day,
Or deciding to eat clean nutritious foods and making that a habit,
These are all ways that we can change our brain.
Even listening to this simple affirmation to believe in yourself can have a profound effect over the long run.
Because it opens up that little window for our brains to be able to say,
I would like to learn something new.
I would like to change my direction.
So wherever you are,
Just take a deep breath and exhale any tension in your neck and shoulders.
Take another deep breath and exhale at your own pace,
Releasing any tension in your neck and shoulders.
You can either keep your eyes lowered or closed,
Whatever is good for you.
Just listen very carefully.
Now bring all of your attention to my voice as I repeat this mantra for you today.
I believe in you.
I believe in you.
Now allow that to repeat for you silently.
Now let that resonate with you for the next minute.
I believe in you.
Now slowly release.
Now slowly release.
Just remember,
I believe in you.
You can come back to this anytime,
Anywhere,
Just by taking a deep breath in and exhaling and remembering my voice saying to you,
I believe in you.
