Hello my name is Megan and today I'm going to be guiding you through a short meditation that you can do anytime throughout your day to help bring a sense of grounding back into your nervous system.
So to get started please find a comfortable seat,
Whether that's sitting on a chair or simply sitting on the earth.
You may also like to do this lying down.
So begin to close your eyes down.
Notice the sound of your breath.
As you inhale feel the gentle rise of your chest as it lifts and expands.
As you exhale watch the chest contract,
Watch the breath leave your body.
Continue to watch your breath in this way,
Knowing whatever it is that you are carrying with you that you would like to release.
Inviting that to release through the sound of your exhale.
Begin to draw your awareness into your seat and notice the point of connection where your seat is meeting the chair and where the chair is meeting your seat.
And then see if you can tap into the gravitational pull,
Pulling you closer towards the chair.
Invite in the breath.
Begin feeling into the back of the chair,
So the point of connection where your back is connecting to the chair.
Feel as though you are extremely supported by the chair you are sitting on.
Watch the breath rise and fall.
Then bring your awareness to the soles of your feet.
Feel the connection of your feet to the earth and from the earth to your feet.
And again see if you can tap into this gravitational pull that's pulling your feet closer towards the center of the earth.
And then as you inhale just begin to notice how you feel.
Notice what has shifted for you.
Notice what feels a little more grounded,
A little more supported in your body.
Then as you begin to tap into this space of calm,
Ask yourself the question,
What do I need in this moment?
Then allow yourself to go experience that thing.
Notice how it makes you feel after the activity.
And then when you feel ready you can slowly come back to the room.
Gently open your eyes.
If you'd like you can find five things to fix your gaze on to orient yourself back into your space.
Thank you for joining me on this short meditation.
I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day.
Namaste.
