Begin by finding a comfortable seated position.
With your spine straight but not rigid,
Allow your shoulders to relax away from your ears.
Place your hands on your thighs or in your lap.
Take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
We begin this journey by connecting with the lover archetype.
The energy of aliveness,
Connection,
Sensuality and appreciation for beauty.
The lover within you is the part that experiences life directly through your senses,
That feels deeply and that recognises the sacred in the ordinary.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and release it slowly through your mouth.
Now allow your breathing to find its natural rhythm.
Bring your awareness to your body.
Feel the weight of your body against the surface supporting you.
Notice the temperature of the air against your skin.
Perhaps there's a gentle tingling or pulsing sensation somewhere in your body.
This is life force,
The domain of the lover.
Bring your attention to your heart centre in the middle of your chest.
Imagine a warm radiant light beginning to glow here.
A soft red or pink light that represents your capacity for connection,
Appreciation and joy.
With each breath allow this light to grow stronger,
To expand throughout your chest.
As this light grows recall a moment when you felt fully alive and present,
Perhaps in nature.
In the flow of creative expression,
In intimate connection with another or in deep appreciation of beauty.
Remember how your body felt in that moment,
Open,
Receptive,
Vibrant.
The balanced lover within you knows how to be present with what is,
Not grasping for more,
Not numbing or withdrawing but simply being with experience as it unfolds.
The lover knows how to say yes to life,
Not out of compulsion but out of genuine appreciation.
If you notice areas in your life where the lover energy is deflated,
Where you've become numb,
Disconnected or have lost your enthusiasm,
Gently acknowledge these places.
There's no need to judge yourself,
Simply recognise where this vital energy has become diminished.
Breathe into these areas,
Imagining the warm light from your heart bringing renewal and awakening.
Now notice if there are areas where your lover energy has become inflated or excessive,
Perhaps manifesting as addictive patterns,
Emotional flooding or boundary confusion.
Again,
Observe without judgement,
Seeing clearly how this imbalance affects your life and relationships.
Imagine this same heart light bringing balance,
Helping this energy find its proper expression,
Passionate but not consuming,
Appreciative but not attached.
The healthy lover knows the difference between appreciation and addiction,
Between passion and compulsion.
The healthy lover can feel deeply without becoming overwhelmed,
Can enjoy life's pleasures without being controlled by them.
As we prepare to close this meditation,
Set an intention for how you might bring balanced lover energy into your daily life.
Perhaps it's taking time to truly savour a meal,
To fully listen to a piece of music,
To express appreciation to someone you care about,
Or to simply pause and notice the beauty that surrounds you.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Feel gratitude for this aspect of yourself.
The lover who allows you to experience the richness of being alive.
Wiggle your fingers and toes,
Bringing gentle movement back to your body.
When you feel ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Carrying this balanced lover energy with you.
