There are days we carry far more than we realize,
Not in our hands,
But in our minds.
Yesterday's conversation.
Yesterday's mistake.
The opportunity we missed.
The words we wish we'd said differently.
Sometimes,
We wake up today already exhausted by a day that's already gone.
The mind has a habit of reopening doors that life has already closed,
Replaying moments,
Searching for different endings,
Hoping that if we think about them long enough,
Something might change.
But this moment doesn't belong to yesterday.
For the next few minutes,
We're going to put down what no longer needs carrying.
Allow yourself to become still.
Notice the support beneath your body.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
Breathe out gently.
Longer than the inhale.
Again,
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Allowing your shoulders to soften,
Your jaw to unclench,
Your hands to relax.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing you need to solve.
No version of yourself you need to become.
Just this breath,
This body,
This moment.
Bring yesterday gently into your awareness.
Don't search too hard.
Allow whatever naturally appears.
Perhaps it's a conversation,
A mistake,
A disappointment,
A feeling that never fully left.
Notice where your body carries it.
Without trying to change anything.
Simply acknowledge.
I've been carrying this.
Not because you're weak.
Not because you failed.
Because you're human.
Now imagine placing that experience in front of you,
Not throwing it away,
Not pretending it didn't happen,
Simply allowing yourself to look at it,
Instead of carrying it Ask yourself quietly,
Is there anything else this moment needs to teach me?
If the answer comes,
Receive it.
If nothing comes,
Trust that you've already learned enough.
Imagine standing beside a quiet river.
The water moves steadily,
Without force,
Without resistance.
Place yesterday into the water,
The conversation.
The frustration,
The expectation,
The version of yourself you're still judging.
Watch it drift away,
Not because it never mattered,
But because it no longer belongs in your hands.
Notice what becomes lighter inside you.
The past doesn't disappear,
But it no longer has to dictate how you meet today.
Every sunrise quietly offers the same invitation,
Begin again.
Not because you're starting over,
Because you're continuing,
Without carrying unnecessary weight.
Take a slow breath in.
And breathe out.
Feel your body as it is now,
Perhaps nothing dramatic has changed,
Perhaps only a little more space,
A little more softness,
A little more room to breathe.
Often.
That's all we need.
One final breath in.
And a slow breath out.
As you continue into the rest of your day,
See if you can remember this.
You are allowed to learn from yesterday,
Without living inside it.
Today deserves your full attention.
Not what's already passed.
Leave yesterday where it belongs and meet today with open hands.
Go gently.
Take a few moments after this practice to notice what shifted,
What still feels present,
And what you may want to continue exploring in your own time.
It's in this seminal spaces where you need to act before the regular heartbeat of your life continues.
Please feel no pressure to reach out,
But I can tell you,
I'd be honoured to witness your being and becoming.
