Hello and welcome,
Dear friends.
I want to share a simple yet profound message.
Don't take life too seriously,
Because in the grand scheme of existence,
Life is nothing more than God's lila,
His divine play.
So let's take a deep breath together,
Inhale and exhale,
And open ourselves to a new perspective,
One that brings lightness,
Joy,
And surrender to our journey.
So what is lila?
In many spiritual traditions,
Especially in Hindu philosophy,
The word lila refers to the cosmic play of the divine.
It suggests that the universe,
In all its beauty and chaos,
Is a divine performance,
Unfolding moment by moment.
Imagine for a moment that God,
Or the universe,
Or whatever name you feel comfortable using,
Is like a child playing,
Joyful,
Creative,
Unpredictable.
Every event,
Every encounter,
Every challenge is part of this grand,
Ever-changing performance.
And we?
We are both the actors and the audience.
But here is where most of us get stuck.
We forget it is a play.
We get so absorbed in our roles that we suffer unnecessarily.
We take everything so seriously,
As if every misstep were the end of the world,
As if every loss were permanent.
So why do we take life so seriously?
We have been conditioned to believe that life is a struggle,
That we must control everything,
That we must win at life.
Society teaches us to be productive,
To achieve,
To succeed.
And when things don't go our way,
We feel frustrated,
Anxious,
And even lost.
But what if we could shift our perspective?
What if,
Instead of resisting the flow of life,
We could dance with it?
What if,
Instead of controlling,
We could surrender?
What if,
Instead of being weighed down by worries,
We could laugh at the divine comedy unfolding before us?
The answer seems to be embracing the playfulness of life.
Now,
Embracing life as Lila doesn't mean we don't care about anything.
It doesn't mean we neglect our responsibilities or avoid challenges.
It simply means we approach life with the spirit of openness,
Flexibility,
And trust.
Here are some ways we can start living with more playfulness and lightness.
1.
See challenges as plot twists When something unexpected happens,
Instead of resisting it,
See it as an interesting turn in your story.
Every great play has surprises.
2.
Cultivate humor Laughter is sacred.
It dissolves tension and reminds us not to take things too seriously.
Even in difficult moments,
Can you find something to smile about?
3.
Let go of the need to control Life flows effortlessly.
When we stop trying to force outcomes,
Can we trust that there is a divine rhythm guiding us even when we don't understand it?
4.
Be present in the moment Children don't worry about the past or the future when they play.
They are immersed in the now.
Can we bring the same presence to our daily life?
And lastly,
Surrender to the mystery Life is unpredictable,
But that is what makes it beautiful.
Instead of fearing the unknown,
Can we embrace it as an adventure?
Let's take now a moment to reflect.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out.
Imagine yourself as an actor in a great divine play.
See the stage of life around you.
The people,
The situations,
The emotions.
Everything is part of this unfolding drama.
Now picture yourself stepping back,
Watching it all with the eyes of an amused observer.
Notice how much lighter you feel when you stop taking it all so seriously.
What happens when you release control?
When you trust that every scene,
Every interaction,
Every joy,
And every sorrow is part of something bigger than yourself?
Something greater?
Take another breath in and out.
Gently bring your awareness back to this moment.
Open your eyes.
Life is fleeting.
The joys,
The sorrows,
The victories,
The failures.
They all come and go.
So why carry the weight of it all so seriously?
Instead,
Let's approach life with wonder,
With trust,
With playfulness.
Because in the end,
It is all God's lila.
And we are here not to suffer through it,
But to experience it.
To dance,
To laugh,
To love,
To let go.
Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
May your journey be filled with lightness and joy.
