Hi,
I'm Amy and welcome to this guided meditation for those of you who are about to do something that makes you feel anxious or nervous.
We all have an inner voice in our heads that likes to worry about us and it likes to tell us stories about all the ways in which the thing that you're about to do could go wrong.
The body follows the mind.
So that leaves your body in a dysregulated state.
You might start to feel anxiety or nerves in your body in a number of ways.
So we're going to do some regulation now for the body and the mind will hopefully follow.
And then we can look at what you're about to do today a little differently.
So wherever you are right now.
Just make sure that you won't be disturbed.
And I'd like you to listen to the music.
And try to really focus on my voice,
Letting any outside noise fade away.
If it helps you to focus.
Now is the time for you to close your eyes.
And we're going to take some deep breaths in and out together.
Let's start with a breath in.
And out.
And again,
Deep breath in.
Now I'd like you to consider.
Where you feel nerves or anxiety.
In your own body.
Some people feel it in their guts.
Maybe there's a buzzing through your chest.
Or your head.
Sometimes it can feel as though your mouth is dry.
You may be clenching your jaw,
Your teeth.
So just observe your own body for a moment.
While continuing to take deep breaths in and out.
And just notice what is happening for you.
So everything that you are feeling is preemptive because nothing is currently happening to you.
But yet you feel this way.
So,
Let's correct our bodies now.
I want you to focus on your posture.
Sit or stand tall.
Proud.
Pull your shoulders back.
And down.
And open up your chest.
Unclench your fists.
There is nothing to be afraid of.
And as you continue to take deep breaths in and out.
I want you to consider that rather than feeling nervous,
Or anxious right now.
Perhaps you are excited.
Excited for a challenge.
Excited for an opportunity to show yourself.
Or it could be that you are excited for an eventual outcome.
After this task is complete.
You are excited.
You are excited.
You are strong and excited to be taking this step.
For the greater good.
Of your life.
Take another deep breath in.
And out now.
And just notice any changes in your body.
Feeling a little better,
I hope.
As we continue to breathe together for a few more minutes.
No.
That the only thing.
That you can ever do.
Is your best.
Your best will be better some days than others.
But if you commit.
To just.
Giving it your best.
Then you can be happy.
Whatever the outcome.
Yeah.
Are good enough.
You are worthy of the life you are creating.
Nobody can do it like you.
Practice at life.
Is how we get better.
The fact that you are here today.
Focusing your mind on the task ahead.
Shows your passion and incredible self-awareness.
And that.
Is something that you should be really proud of.
So now.
With your shoulders back.
And your head held high.
Know that you can do this.
You are meant to be here doing this.
Death.
Is your power.
I'd like you to do one final thing now.
And that is decide on the outcome that you are wanting today.
Tell yourself now.
The outcome I would love today is.
Now take that energy forward.
And give it your best.
Until the next time.
