When you're waiting for a reply,
And losing your center,
And checking,
And feeling your body lean toward the silence,
Notice what is happening inside you now.
The chest may feel unsettled,
The stomach may feel tight,
The mind may already be filling in the gap that makes it.
Sometimes waiting creates more activation than the moment itself.
Sometimes the space between messages fills quickly with fear,
Prediction,
And self-questioning.
Not because you are irrational,
Not because you are dead,
But because uncertainty can pull hard on a tired,
Nervous system,
And silence can easily become a place where the mind starts inventing danger.
You do not need to lose yourself inside the waiting.
Feel the chair beneath you.
Feel your feet meeting the floor.
Feel the back of your body being held.
Let the jaw soften a little.
Let the throat have more space.
Let the shoulders drop one small amount.
Let the hands rest without checking again.
Take one slower exhale again.
Not to force calm,
Just to let the body know it does not need to go ahead of the moment.
The reply may still come.
It may not yet.
But your body does not need to hang suspended inside the unknown.
You are allowed to come back to yourself now.
You are allowed to let the unanswered moment remain unanswered for a little while.
I do not need to lose myself inside waiting.
I am allowed to return to my body now.
I do not need to fill in every gap.
I can stay with myself while things remain unclear.
I am allowed to stop checking for this moment.
I can let the waiting be outside my body.
Nothing needs to be answered in this exact breath.
Nothing needs to be predicted right now.
Let the silence stay where it is.
