Good morning.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I'm Mark Rowland.
Let us start here,
Before the day really begins to pick up pace.
And just by taking this time now,
Know that you're already giving yourself a different kind of start.
However you're feeling this morning,
Whether you're fully alert and awake,
Or maybe still easing into the day,
Both are completely fine because you don't need to be at your best to begin well.
Just notice your body,
Where you are,
Whether you're still cosied up under the covers or maybe sitting on the couch with your morning drink.
Just be comfortable and notice.
Noticing the breath moving in and out.
And now just beginning to follow the breath a little more closely now.
And you might find you notice that with each inhale there is a natural sense of energy waking up.
And with each exhale a releasing and letting go of any heaviness from sleep.
No need to try to force anything,
Just letting the body come on line now in its own way.
If it feels right for you,
You could allow the breath to deepen slightly now.
Or even take one fuller breath in and let it go slowly.
You are already starting to shift.
Now just recognising that this new day is a fresh start,
You're not behind and you haven't missed it,
You're right at the beginning of your day here and now.
And whatever yesterday was,
However it went,
You don't need to bring all of that in today.
Some of it can just stay where it is.
Today can move differently with its brand new fresh energy.
And as you move through your day you may find yourself a little more steady,
A little more able to handle what's in front of you.
Just remember you don't need to take on everything at once,
Just the next step,
And then the next.
And just asking yourself now,
What would feel like a good way to move through today?
Not perfectly,
But what will feel good,
Just in a way that feels doable for you.
Maybe it's something like staying a bit more patient,
Maybe not rushing yourself so much,
Or maybe it's trusting that you can deal with things as they come.
And at different points today,
You might notice yourself pausing for a moment before reacting,
Or choosing your next step a little bit more clearly.
And when that happens,
You will recognise it.
Now just coming back to the body again,
Noticing your breath,
The space around you,
Maybe bringing in a slightly deeper breath or even a small stretch.
Allowing yourself to wake up fully to the day.
And when you're ready,
In your own time opening your eyes or lifting your gaze,
Taking this with you into the day.
You don't need to try to hold on to it,
It will carry through naturally as you get going and moving.
