Hello friends,
This is Mandeep and today we are doing the next meditation in the chakra series and today's meditation is on the throat chakra,
Balancing the throat chakra.
So let's begin by arriving in any position that's comfortable for you.
It could be seated with legs crossed,
It could be seated on a chair,
It could be lying,
It could be supported or unsupported.
Arriving in your position of choice,
Begin to connect with the space that you are in.
Connect with your surroundings,
Connect with any sounds that you're hearing,
Connect with the support that's underneath you,
Connect with the clothing that's touching you.
Use all these connection points to become fully present in the moment that you're in.
And then slowly,
Slowly draw your attention towards your breath.
Begin by just observing the breath,
Observing how the breath is moving in and out,
And observing where the breath is moving to inside your body,
What part of the body opens and closes as you breathe in and out.
And then make effort to slow the breath down,
Taking a slightly longer breath in and a slightly slower breath out.
Again,
Take a slightly longer inhale and a slightly slower exhale.
Do that two more times.
Slightly long breath in,
A slow breath out.
Last one,
And slowly let it out,
And then allow your breaths to settle,
Allow your breaths to return to a more natural pace.
Stay with your breath,
Fully conscious,
Fully aware.
And then we move into our breath work.
Today's breath work is Ujjayi breath,
Also known as the victorious breath.
With this breath,
You will constrict the back of your throat.
So focusing more on the back part of the throat,
Slightly constricting it,
Not too intense,
But slightly constricting it,
And then breathing in through the constriction,
Creating that oceanic sound and breathing out through the constriction.
We'll do five rounds,
Here we go.
Inhale through your nose,
Constrict the back of your throat,
Allow the air to pass through this constriction,
Filling up,
Filling up.
And then on the exhale,
You close the ribcage,
Air passes through the same constriction behind the throat and out through your nose.
Again,
Inhale through your nose,
Letting the air pass through the constriction in the throat,
Creating the oceanic sound as you fill up,
Fill up.
And on the exhale,
You close,
Let the air pass through the same constriction behind the throat and out through the nose.
Again,
Inhale through the nose,
Constricting the back of the throat,
Let the air pass through,
Keep filling up,
Filling up.
And exhale,
You let the air pass through the same constriction behind the throat and out through your nose.
Do two more rounds on your own,
Feeling like you're breathing in and out just your throat.
Last one.
And then let the breath settle,
Let the breaths return to their natural pace of breathing.
Allow the throat to relax and soften.
Now we will move through all seven chakras.
We'll gently invite all seven chakras into the practice today.
And then we will come back and rest in the throat chakra and balance the throat chakra.
So bring your focus to the base of your spine.
Bring your focus to the base of your spine,
The seed of the first chakra known as the root chakra.
Focusing on the base of the spine,
You allow the root chakra to slowly awaken.
Feel the root chakra slowly awakening.
And as the root chakra awakens,
It radiates a red light.
Move slightly further up towards your navel,
A couple inches below the navel is your second chakra called the sacral chakra.
Focusing around this part of your body allows the sacral chakra to slowly awaken.
Feel the sacral chakra slowly awakening.
And as the sacral chakra awakens,
It radiates an orange light.
Slowly travel further up towards the upper abdomen.
The upper abdomen is the seed of the third chakra,
Solar plexus chakra.
Focusing on the upper abdomen allows the solar plexus chakra to slowly awaken.
Feel it awakening.
And as the solar plexus chakra awakens,
It radiates a yellow light.
Then travel further up to your upper chest.
Upper chest is the seed of your fourth chakra,
The heart chakra.
Focusing on this part of your body awakens the heart chakra.
Feel the heart chakra slowly,
Slowly awakening.
And as it does so,
It radiates a green light.
And then travel further up to your throat.
Focus on your throat.
This is the seed of your fifth chakra known as the throat chakra.
As you sustain your focus on this part of your body,
It awakens the throat chakra.
See if you can feel that transition happening.
And as the throat chakra awakens,
It radiates a blue light.
Now travel further up to your forehead.
Center of the forehead is the seed of your sixth chakra,
The third eye chakra.
Focusing on this part of your body will help awaken the third eye chakra.
Noticing the subtle transitions in energy around this chakra.
And as it starts awakening,
The third eye chakra radiates a purple or indigo light.
Move further up to the crown of your head.
The top of your head is the seed of the seventh chakra,
Your crown chakra.
Focusing on this part of your body awakens the crown chakra.
And as the chakra awakens,
It radiates a white light,
Pure white light.
Now staying with your crown chakra,
Look down on all seven chakras.
Connect with the colors that are radiating from each of these chakras.
Some are stronger,
Some are more subtle.
Let's feel the presence of all seven chakras today.
And now slowly return to your throat chakra residing in the throat area.
So begin by focusing on the throat.
Relaxing the area around the throat.
Feeling the throat chakra becoming more and more awake.
Start by connecting with the color associated with this chakra.
And the color is blue.
See if you can visualize the color blue.
If it's hard to visualize the color blue,
You can visualize something off the color blue.
The blue color represents purification.
It represents truthful communication.
And that's what this chakra stands for.
Shuddhi chakra,
It means pure.
So feel the blue color getting stronger,
Brighter.
Now each chakra also has a symbol along with a color.
The symbol for throat chakra is a 16-petaled lotus flower with an inverted triangle inside the lotus and a circle inside the triangle.
So a 16-petaled lotus flower with an inverted triangle inside it and a circle inside the triangle.
You can visualize this symbol maybe in the color blue sitting in the seat of your throat chakra.
This helps you strengthen the connection with your throat chakra.
The 16 petals represent the 16 vowels in Sanskrit language that help speak with clarity.
Inverted triangle represents our consciousness or our purest self.
And the circle inside represents the full moon or the purified mind.
So connect with the symbol along with what the symbol stands for.
Breathe.
Now the element that's associated with the throat chakra is ether or space.
Notice the space that you feel around you.
Space also helps sound travel through.
So notice the sounds around you that are traveling through the space getting to you.
And if you can connect deeper,
Notice the vibrations of the sound coming through the space.
Connecting with the element space helps you strengthen the energy of the throat chakra.
Now to further strengthen the throat chakra,
We can make a hand mudra and hand gesture.
For that,
You'll turn your palms up resting them either in your lap,
On your thighs or alongside your body.
And then you will press your thumb into the base of the ring finger and the second finger.
And all the other fingers stay out.
Just the thumb presses at the base of the second finger and the third finger.
So the ring and the middle.
This mudra is known as Vishuddha mudra.
This mudra helps in expressing your truth clearly and honestly.
Now while holding on to the mudra,
We will chant the vibration associated with the throat chakra.
And the vibration is hum,
H-A-M,
Hum.
We will chant it five times.
You're welcome to chant it with me.
You can just listen as well.
Here we go.
Take a long breath in,
Fill up.
And as you exhale,
H-A-M.
Feel it in your throat.
Again,
A long breath in,
H-A-M.
Again,
Inhale.
Nice long breath in.
Last one,
Inhale.
Pause to feel the changes,
The vibration,
The tingling in your throat around the area of the throat chakra.
If you wish to continue holding on to the hand mudra,
You may do so for the remaining of the practice.
But if you would like to turn your palms back down the way they were,
That's fine as well.
And then we will just stay,
Stay with the throat chakra.
And notice if there are any insights the throat chakra has for us.
Insights on what might be blocking your throat chakra.
Insights on what's stopping you from expressing your pure,
Authentic self.
See if there's anything that comes up.
And if you notice there are any blocks,
Any previous filters,
Any fear,
Any attachment to outcomes,
Whatever the blocks could be for you,
Release them using your breath.
Maybe with your exhale,
You feel them letting go.
Maybe you physically relax the area of your throat to let that physical tension melt away.
You're moving the blocks along with it.
Allowing the throat chakra to vibrate in its highest frequency.
Lastly,
Notice if there are any attachments to your throat chakra.
These attachments are usually with people who might be drawing energy from your throat chakra.
You see these people attached through cords coming out of the throat chakra.
Notice if there are any people attached to your throat chakra.
These people could be the ones who you helped in the past to feel their authentic self.
They are using your energy to do so even today.
And these people could also be the ones who said something to you in the past that stops you from being your authentic self.
So notice the people that are attached to your throat chakra.
Once you realize who these people are,
You slowly start detaching the cords and releasing these people away from the throat chakra.
You can do them one by one.
You can remove all the cords at once.
Seeing those people move away,
Away,
Away from your energy.
From your safe space.
Once you have freed your throat chakra from all attachments,
You visualize a golden sun in front of the throat chakra.
Then you absorb the sun into the chakra.
Balancing the chakra.
Re-energizing the chakra.
Then you repeat some affirmations.
I am pure.
I am authentic.
I am truthful.
Now thank all the other chakras for being here today.
And say a big thank you to your throat chakra for helping you in many different ways.
Let the chakras calm down,
Return back to your breath.
Taking some deeper breaths.
Connecting with your surroundings,
The sounds,
The support,
What you're sitting on or lying on.
Connecting with your physical body.
Making movements with your fingers,
Toes.
You want to stretch your neck,
Move your shoulders.
And then you'll slowly bring your hands to your heart center.
In prayer mudra.
And then gently bow down to close the practice.
Namaste.
When you feel ready,
You can open your eyes.
And this was the practice for balancing the throat chakra.
I will see you guys for the next one.
Thank you.
