Hello friends,
This is Mandeep and today this meditation is on heart chakra balancing,
The next meditation in our chakra series.
So to do this meditation,
You can be seated or you can be lying,
You can have support underneath you or you can be unsupported,
Whatever position works best for you.
And then once you arrive in the position that you chose,
Just allow yourself to become present.
Allow yourself to connect with your surroundings,
Connect with the room that you're in,
Connect with what you are sitting on,
How does the texture feel,
How's the temperature of the room,
Connect with any sounds that you can hear around you,
Allow yourself to be fully present in the moment that you're in.
And then slowly bring your focus towards your breath,
Noticing how your breath moves in and out,
Maybe trying not to change it right away,
But just observing it,
Becoming mindful of your breathing.
And then working on slowing down the breath,
Tiny bit with each round,
Taking a slightly longer breath in and a slightly slower breath out,
Again a long breath in and a slow breath out,
A few more rounds just like that,
Then we move into our breath work.
Today the breath work is 4-6-8 breathing,
Where we inhale for 4,
We hold for 6 and exhale for 8.
Again,
Do to the best of your own ability,
Here we go,
Inhale 1-2-3-4,
Hold 1-2-3-4-5-6,
Exhale 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1,
Inhale 1-2-3-4,
Hold 1-2-3-4-5-6,
Exhale 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1,
Inhale 1-2-3-4,
Hold 1-2-3-4-5-6,
Exhale 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1,
Last round on your own.
And then you allow the breaths to settle,
Allow the breaths to return back to a natural pace of breathing,
Observing the breath,
Maybe it feels slightly different than before,
And then you start focusing on your breath moving in and out of your upper chest area,
Just the upper chest area.
So on the inhale,
You expand the upper chest,
And on the exhale,
You relax your upper chest.
Again,
Inhale,
Expand the upper chest,
Exhale,
Relax the upper chest.
Continue breathing just like that into your upper chest,
If you want to place your hands on your upper chest for better judgment of the breath moving in and out,
You may do so.
Three more rounds here,
Breathing in and out of the heart space.
And then you allow your breaths to again settle,
Returning to a natural pace,
Letting the breath flow freely wherever it wants.
And then from here,
We'll move through all seven chakras,
Welcoming all seven chakras to the practice,
And then we'll settle in the chest area and connect with the heart chakra.
So start with the base of your spine,
Move your focus to the base of your spine.
That's the seed of your first chakra,
The root chakra.
Focusing on the base of your spine opens up the root chakra.
And as the root chakra opens,
It radiates a red light.
And then move slightly further up towards your navel.
Right below your navel is the seed of your second chakra,
The sacral chakra.
Focusing on this part of your body opens up the sacral chakra.
And as the sacral chakra opens up,
It radiates an orange light.
And then you travel further up towards the upper abdomen.
That's the seed of your third chakra,
The solar plexus chakra.
Focusing on the upper abdomen opens the solar plexus chakra.
And as this chakra opens,
It radiates a yellow light.
And now you move further up to the upper chest area,
The seed of your fourth chakra,
The heart chakra.
Focusing on this part will open up your heart chakra.
And as the heart chakra opens,
It radiates a green light.
Now travel up towards the throat,
The seed of your fifth chakra,
The throat chakra.
Focusing on this part opens up the throat chakra.
And as the throat chakra opens,
It radiates a blue light.
And then you travel up towards your forehead.
Center of the forehead is the seed of the sixth chakra,
The third eye chakra.
Focusing on the center of your forehead will open the third eye chakra.
And as this chakra opens,
It radiates a purple indigo light.
And then you move up to the crown of your head.
The seventh chakra sits on the top of your head,
Just like a crown.
And it's known as the crown chakra.
And when this chakra opens,
It radiates a white light,
A pure white light.
Now feel the presence of all seven chakras here shining in their own lights.
And slowly return back to the upper chest,
The seed of your heart chakra.
Return back to the upper chest.
And we will move through some visualizations that will help us balance the heart chakra,
Strengthen the energy,
And the connection we have with the heart chakra.
So start by connecting with the color associated with this chakra.
And the color is green.
See if you can visualize the green color maybe radiating from your heart chakra in the upper chest.
And if that's hard,
Maybe you visualize something off the color green to start with.
The color green represents harmony and love.
So as you feel the color green getting brighter,
Expanding beyond the heart space,
Maybe filling the whole body,
Also feel that harmony and love is expanding beyond the heart space into your whole body.
Feel the green color radiating through the whole body,
Spreading love to every single cell,
Every single tissue.
You're filling yourself with your own love coming from your own heart center.
Now every chakra has a symbol.
And visualizing the symbol can help us connect deeper with our chakra.
The symbol for the heart chakra is a 12-petaled lotus flower with two intersecting triangles inside it forming a six-pointed star.
So 12-petaled lotus flower and two intersecting triangles inside the flower forming a six-pointed star.
You can visualize this symbol maybe in the color green sitting in your heart space in the upper chest.
The 12 petals represent the 12 sounds created by the heart chakra.
And the two intersecting triangles represent the masculine and feminine energy uniting in the heart space.
They also represent a bridge between the lower three chakras and the higher three chakras.
So your heart chakra resides right in the center of the whole chakra system.
Let's say you balance this chakra,
You balance all the others.
See if you can feel not just the symbol but also what it represents in your heart space.
Now this chakra is governed by the element of air.
And to further strengthen the energy of your heart center,
Strengthening the air element inside you,
Can be helpful.
So start by connecting with where do you feel air inside your body.
Maybe you connect with the actual breath that moves in and out.
Maybe you connect with the air energy inside your digestive tract.
Maybe you connect with the air energy that moves your thoughts around.
Maybe you connect with the actual air touching your face,
Your arms,
Your skin.
You can also strengthen this energy by creating a mudra with our hands.
So the hand mudra we're going to practice today is known as the Hridya mudra.
Hridya means heart.
To do this mudra,
You'll turn your palms up towards the ceiling.
And then you'll connect your thumb with the second and the third finger,
With the ring and the middle finger.
So the thumb connects with the ring and the middle finger.
And then your index finger pulls inward,
Connecting with the base of the thumb.
And the pinky finger stays out.
Connect with your breath as you hold this mudra.
Strengthening the energy of your heart chakra.
Now we will move into the vibration that's associated with this chakra.
The vibration is yam.
I'll chant it five times.
You're welcome to chant it with me.
Or you can listen to it as well.
Take a long breath in,
Fill up.
And on the exhale,
Fill up.
And on the exhale,
Yam.
Feel it in the heart space.
Take an inhale.
Breathe in.
Inhale.
Last one,
Inhale.
And you let your breath settle.
If it feels fine to hold on to the mudra,
You can continue doing so.
But if you would like to release it and turn your palms down,
That's fine as well.
And then return back to your heart space,
The upper chest area.
Connecting with your heart chakra.
And listening to your heart chakra.
Listening to any insights your heart chakra has for you.
Perhaps it's telling you if there are any blocks to its energy.
Any blocks that might be holding you back from receiving love.
Any blocks that might be holding you back from giving love.
Or from loving yourself.
Just listen to your heart chakra for a few moments.
And see what it has to say.
And if you do recognize there are any blocks,
See if you can use your breath to release the blocks.
Or you relax the upper chest to physically release the tension around the area.
And as you release those blocks,
You feel the energy of your heart chakra getting brighter,
Stronger,
Higher.
And then see if there are any people that might be drawing the energy from your heart chakra.
These people are attached to your chakra with cords.
And these might be the people who you have supported in the past,
Shown love in the past.
But they're still attached to your chakra,
They're still draining the energy of your chakra.
So notice who these people are.
And as much as you love them,
It's okay to sometimes conserve your energy for yourself.
So see if you can slowly release these cords of attachment from your chakra,
Allowing these people to move away from the chakra,
One by one.
Once the chakra is free from all attachments,
You visualize a golden sun in front of your chakra and allow the sun to be absorbed into the chakra,
Healing the chakra,
Filling up all the spaces inside the chakra.
And then repeat some affirmations to yourself.
I am loved.
I can receive love.
I can give love.
And then say thank you to your heart chakra and all the other chakras for helping you today,
For helping you see what love is all about.
And then slowly return back to your breath.
Noticing your breath.
Perhaps moving and breathing a little deeper.
Connecting with what you're sitting on,
Textures of whatever is touching you.
Connecting with any sounds that you hear around you.
Slowly returning back to the moment.
That you're in now.
If you wish to make any movements in your arms,
Your neck,
Your shoulders.
And then when you're ready,
You'll bring your hands to your heart center and gently bow down to close the practice.
Namaste.
You can open your eyes when you feel right.
And this was the meditation to balance the heart chakra.
I'll see you guys soon for the next one.
Thank you.
