This is the Good Samaritan,
A liberating humanity,
Christ-centered meditation.
In the parable of the Good Samaritan,
Christ teaches that love for one another goes beyond boundaries,
Expectations,
And judgment.
This meditation is a time to allow love to move through you even when you would normally hold back.
Sit comfortably.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And exhale gently through your mouth.
Again,
Deep breath in,
And a slow breath out.
Let your breathing settle into a steady rhythm.
As you breathe in,
Receive love.
Release resistance.
Quietly say a prayer in your heart.
A prayer to remain open,
A prayer to love as Christ loves.
Invite divine protection of this space.
Only the pure love of God is present.
Bring your awareness to your heart.
Feel the presence of love there.
Gently bring to mind someone in your life who is in real need.
They may not feel easy to love.
Just notice them.
Notice what arises in you as you see them.
Any distance,
Any instinct to move past.
Do not judge it.
Just see it clearly.
With each exhale,
Allow your awareness to move beyond differences.
See the person.
See them as a person created by God.
Compassion begins to arise.
Even a small action,
A moment of presence,
Just willingness to receive God's love.
With each exhale,
Allow love to move outward.
Bring your awareness to your heart again.
Quietly say within.
Expand your awareness.
This is not just one person.
This is not just one moment.
This becomes how you move through life.
Let compassion soften what has been distant.
Let presence replace separation.
Gently bring your awareness back to your body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Carry God's love with you.
