This is the Holy Spirit as the Comforter,
A liberating humanity,
Christ-centered meditation.
In John 14,
Christ said,
And I will pray the Father,
And he shall give you another Comforter,
To be with you forever.
This meditation is a time to become aware of that presence.
Sit comfortably.
Close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Exhale gently through your mouth.
Again,
Deep breath in.
And slow breath out.
Let your breathing flow with a steady rhythm.
As you breathe in,
Receive peace.
As you breathe out,
Release tension.
Now,
Quietly say a prayer in your heart,
A prayer of openness,
A prayer of trust,
A prayer to be guided by the Spirit of God.
Invite divine protection of this space.
Only the pure love of God is present.
Take a deep breath in,
Bringing more love into your heart.
Hold it,
And release.
With each breath,
Feel yourself becoming still,
Present,
Attentive.
Take another deep breath in.
Hold it,
And release.
Bring your awareness to your heart.
Continue breathing,
And feel peace and infinite love flowing to you with each breath.
The Holy Spirit is with you,
Present,
Now.
Feel it.
Christ called the Spirit a comforter,
A helper,
A guide into truth.
If you are carrying worry,
Let the Spirit of God hold it.
If you are carrying confusion,
Invite clarity.
If you are carrying sorrow,
You are not alone in your decisions.
You are not alone in your questions.
You are not alone in your weakness.
The Spirit strengthens gently,
Guides quietly,
And reminds you of truth.
Continue to breathe with intention.
With each inhale,
Say Spirit.
With each exhale,
Guide me.
Inhale,
Spirit.
Exhale,
Guide me.
Spirit,
Exhale,
Guide me.
Continue breathing and allowing guidance.
Now,
Simply rest,
Open,
Available,
Listening.
When you are ready,
Gently bring awareness back to your body.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel the air around you.
Take one more deep breath in,
And slowly release.
Open your eyes gently,
Walk forward guided,
Comforted,
Strengthened by the Spirit of God.
