Welcome to a gentle meditation for releasing what is no longer serving you.
Begin by settling into your place,
Sitting in a comfortable seated position,
Letting your feet rest on the ground or crossing your legs,
Whatever feels most grounding to you.
Place your hands on your heart,
Close your eyes and take a few deep,
Slow breaths,
Inhaling through your nose,
Again in through the nose,
Allow each breath to bring you more and more into the present moment.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine roots growing from the base of your spine and the soles of your feet,
Extending deep into the earth.
Feel the earth supporting you and holding you in a safe and stable place.
With each breath,
You feel the deeper connection to the ground beneath you,
Breathing out.
Now gently bring your awareness to your body,
Starting at the top of your head and slowly moving down.
As you move your awareness down through your body,
Notice any areas where you're holding tension,
Relaxing the muscles in your forehead,
Relaxing around your eyes and in your jaw.
Moving down,
Relaxing your throat,
Your shoulders,
Relaxing through your abdomen,
And moving all the way down to your feet.
With every breath you take,
Invite your body to relax even further,
Softening any tightness,
Letting go of any stress.
Now I want you to take a moment to reflect on what you may be ready to release.
There is probably something that comes to mind that you know it's time to let go of.
It might be an emotion like fear,
Anger,
Or guilt.
It could be a habit,
A belief,
Or a situation that no longer serves you.
Whatever it is,
Trust that you know how to allow it to make itself known to you in your awareness without judgment.
As you allow this information to surface in your mind,
Continue to breathe deeply and relax your body.
As you identify what you want to release,
Bring it into the forefront of your mind.
Notice how it feels in your body,
The physical sensations.
Does it feel heavy?
Does it sit in a particular place in your body?
Simply observe without trying to change anything.
Notice what your body is telling you.
Now I want you to imagine that with each exhale,
You are gently releasing this energy,
This feeling,
This experience.
Imagine it leaving your body every time you exhale as a dark cloud dissipating out into the air where it is transformed.
With each breath out,
Let go just a little bit more.
As you inhale,
Imagine filling your body with fresh,
Clean energy.
And exhale fully,
Letting go of more and more of that energy,
That feeling,
That experience that you're ready to release.
Let your breath be a tool for release,
Gently sweeping away the old energy,
Beliefs or emotions that have been weighing you down.
As you continue to breathe and release,
Silently or aloud,
Say to yourself,
I release what no longer serves me.
I let go of the past.
I am free.
I release what no longer serves me.
Repeat this affirmation a few more times,
Feeling the weight of what you are releasing becoming lighter and lighter with each breath.
I release what no longer serves me.
I let go of the past.
I am free.
Now that you've created space,
Imagine this space being filled with light,
Warmth,
And peace.
Visualize yourself surrounded by light,
Feeling lighter and more at ease.
This light represents the new possibilities,
Opportunities,
And intentions that are welcoming into your life.
Breathe into this new space within you.
Feel how open and expansive it is,
Knowing that it will soon be filled with your highest desires and aligned actions.
Taking a deep breath in and experiencing that openness.
Whenever you are ready,
Begin to gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Moving your toes and your fingers,
Moving and shifting your body around,
Whenever it feels right for you.
Taking a few more deep breaths,
And at peace.
Thank you for joining me in this meditation of release.
