Yoga Nidra is a powerful practice of deep relaxation that is often referred to as yogic sleep.

It is a deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation.

It is considered to be the most healing type of meditation.

This is because in Yoga Nidra,

You go into a state between sleeping and waking.

Your body is completely relaxed as you turn your awareness inward.

And as you focus your complete attention on the voice of the instructor.

The practice of Yoga Nidra involves Pratyahara,

Which is a withdrawal of the senses.

The practice of Yoga Nidra is designed to help you enter a state of deep relaxation,

The Alpha Theta state,

Which can lead to a variety of benefits,

Such as reducing stress and anxiety,

Improving sleep quality,

And enhancing an overall physical and mental health.

In this practice,

You will create a Sankalpa,

Go through breath awareness and body awareness exercises,

While lying down in Javasana.

Yoga Nidra not only involves Pratyahara,

But also requires Pranayama,

Breathing techniques,

And Arana,

Concentration.

You will then be guided through a series of visualizations that will help you access your subconscious mind and release any negative emotions or limiting beliefs that may be holding you back in your life.

Throughout the practice,

It is important to remember that there is no right or wrong way to do Yoga Nidra.

Simply allow yourself to relax and let go of any expectations or judgments you may have.

And if you find yourself drifting off to sleep,

That is perfectly okay.

By the end of the session,

You should feel refreshed,

Rejuvenated,

And deeply relaxed.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable and quiet space where you won't be disturbed.

You may wish to use a yoga mat or a soft surface such as a bed or a couch for added comfort.

Once you've found your space,

Lie down on your back,

With your legs slightly apart and your arms resting at your sides,

With your palms facing the sky.

Take in a few deep breaths and allow yourself to sink into the surface beneath you.

Become aware of the sounds in the distance.

Become aware of the most distant sounds that you can hear.

Let your sense of hearing operate like a radar beam,

Searching out distant sounds and following them for a few seconds.

Move your attention from sound to sound,

Without attempting to identify the source.

Gradually bring your attention to closer sounds.

To the sounds outside of the building you are in.

Then to the sounds inside the building you are in.

Now develop your awareness of the room you are in.

Without opening your eyes,

Visualize the four walls,

The ceiling,

The floor,

Your body lying on the floor.

See your body lying on the floor.

Become aware of the existence of your physical body lying on the floor.

Total awareness of your body lying in perfect stillness.

Your body is lying on the floor.

Develop your awareness of all of the physical meeting points between your body and the floor.

Become aware of the natural breath.

Become aware of the deep,

Natural,

Spontaneous breath.

Do not concentrate,

For this will interfere with the natural process.

As you continue to breathe and relax,

Allow yourself to fully surrender to the present moment.

Let go of any worries,

Fears,

Or expectations and simply be present in your body and in your breath.

Let yourself fully settle into the stillness of the present moment.

Keep listening to my voice and know that you are breathing.

The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.

Say mentally to yourself,

I am practicing Yoga Nidra.

I will remain awake and alert.

Let us now take a moment to set your sankalpa or your intention for this practice.

Allow a phrase or a word to come to your mind.

Something that represents your deepest desire.

This might be something you want to bring into your life.

Or maybe something you want to let go of.

Whatever it is,

Allow it to come to you without judgment or expectation.

Once you have formed your sankalpa into a phrase or a sentence,

Repeat it to yourself three times with conviction and belief.

Visualize your intention coming to fruition and feel it as if it is already happening in your life.

Throughout the rest of this practice,

Keep your sankalpa in the back of your mind,

Allowing it to guide and motivate you.

And know that you have the power to bring your deepest desires to life.

And that the practice of Yoga Nidra can help you tap into that power.

Take a deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Allow yourself to sink deeper into the surface beneath you.

Now bring your awareness to your right hand.

To your right thumb.

And move your attention to your index finger.

To your middle finger.

To your ring finger.

And to the pinky finger.

Allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in each finger.

Noticing any tingling or warmth.

Now bring your awareness to your right hand palm.

Feel the weight of your hand and the sensation of the back of the hand against the surface beneath you.

Allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in your palm.

Now bring your awareness to your right wrist.

Continue to move your awareness up the right side of the body.

To your right forearm.

To your right elbow.

To your upper right arm.

Then to your right shoulder.

To the right collarbone.

To the throat center.

To the eyebrow center.

To the top of the head.

Continue to move your awareness down your body.

Back to the eyebrow center.

Back to the throat center.

Down to the heart center.

Down to the navel center.

To your right hip.

To the right thigh.

To the right calf muscle.

Now bring your awareness to your right ankle.

To the sole of the right foot.

Feel the weight of your foot and the sensation of the sole against the surface beneath you.

Noticing any tingling or warmth.

Bring your awareness to your right big toe.

To your second toe.

To the third toe.

To the fourth toe.

And to the pinky toe.

Allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in each toe.

Noticing any tingling or warmth.

Now bring your awareness to your left foot.

To your left big toe.

To your second toe.

To the third toe.

To the pinky toe.

Allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in each of the left toes.

Noticing any tingling or warmth.

Now bring your awareness to your left sole of the foot.

Feel the weight of your foot and the sensation of the sole against the surface beneath you.

Noticing any tingling or warmth up to the left ankle.

Continue to move your awareness up your left leg.

Moving your attention to your left calf.

To the left knee.

To the left thigh.

To the left hip.

To the left waist.

And the whole left side of the body.

Continue to move your awareness up the left side of the body.

Moving your attention to your left collarbone.

To your left shoulder.

To the upper left arm.

To the left elbow.

To the left forearm.

To the left wrist.

To your left palm.

Feel the weight of your hand and the sensation of the back of the hand against the surface beneath you.

And allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in your palm.

Noticing any tingling or warmth.

Now bring your awareness to your left hand thumb.

To your index finger.

To the middle finger.

To the ring finger.

And to the pinky finger.

And allow yourself to fully experience the sensation in each finger.

Finally,

Bring your awareness to your breath.

Notice the sensation of your breath moving in and out of your body.

Allow yourself to fully experience the sensation of your breath.

Noticing any rise and fall in your chest or your belly.

Just the natural breath.

Nothing for you to do.

The body is miraculously breathing itself.

The body is taking care of this for you.

Notice the breath flowing in and out through the nostrils.

Two streams of air softly flowing in and flowing out.

Feel as you breathe in that you are breathing in energy.

Vital life force.

This vital life force is known as prana.

Breathing in prana energy.

As this energy flows in,

Feel that you pull it in.

All the way down to the navel center.

As you exhale,

Feel the energy disperse out to all parts of the energy body.

Inhale,

Pulling energy in deep down to the navel center.

Exhale,

Energy dispersing through a network of energy tubes.

Like the nerves of the physical body.

Inhaling energy down to the navel center.

Exhaling it disperses out to the tips of the fingers,

The toes,

To the crown of the head.

Inhale down to the navel center.

And exhale energy out to all parts of your energy body.

Keep breathing this way for the next few breaths.

Inhaling energy.

Exhaling dispersing energy throughout your energy body.

Bring your awareness back to the breath if it has wandered off.

Inhaling energy.

Exhaling dispersing energy throughout the energy body.

Maybe beginning to feel as if the whole body is alive with energy.

Pulsing,

Vibrating,

Tingling.

Recognizing this energy body,

A more subtle aspect of your being.

The energy body gives life to all aspects of your being and allows you to feel.

Noticing any positive sensation in this moment.

Maybe a feeling of energy,

Peace,

Or expansion.

Give gratitude to the energy body for allowing you to feel this positive sensation.

Diving further into the self now.

Exploring on.

There are deeper layers of your being to discover.

And remember,

There is no right or wrong way to experience Yoga Nidra.

And your experience may be different each time you practice.

Trust in the process and allow yourself to fully surrender to the present moment.

Become aware of the Chittakasha.

The inner space you see behind your forehead.

Develop your awareness of this space.

An infinite space that extends as far as you can see.

As low or as high and as wide as you can see.

Become aware of this space.

Be totally aware but not involved.

Observe it as if you are watching a movie.

What you see is a projection of your subconscious.

If you see patterns,

This is simply the way your mind is manifesting.

Maintain your awareness.

Imagine that you are standing at the edge of a vast open field.

In the distance you can see a bright,

Flickering light.

And you feel a sense of curiosity and wonder.

As you begin to walk towards it.

As you approach the light,

You begin to realize that it is a roaring fire.

Dancing and crackling in the darkness with flames that dance and flicker.

Reaching high into the sky.

You can feel the heat emanating from the flames.

And you can hear the sound of the wood popping and snapping as it burns.

As you stand before the fire and gaze at the flames.

You begin to feel the heat and warmth emanating from the fire.

You feel the energy of the flames.

And you sense that this fire has the power to transform you.

You let out a deep breath with a strong sense of awe and reverence for its power and beauty.

Now imagine yourself stepping closer to the fire.

Feeling the heat and energy of the flames wash over you.

You feel the strength and power of the fire.

And you feel it entering your body.

Invigorating you as you allow yourself to be drawn in.

To become part of the fire itself.

Imagine that you are now surrounded by the flames.

Completely engulfed by their warmth and light.

You can feel the heat on your skin.

And you can hear the sound of the fire all around you.

Feel the energy of the fire spreading through your body.

Filling you with power and strength.

As you bask in the energy of the fire.

Feel yourself growing stronger and more powerful with every passing moment.

As you bask in the warmth of the flames.

Allow yourself to let go of any negative thoughts or emotions that you have been holding on to.

And imagine that these emotions are being burned away by the fire.

Leaving you feeling cleansed and renewed.

As you continue to soak in the heat and the light of the fire.

Imagine that the fire is fueling your own inner fire.

Filling you with a sense of purpose,

Motivation and determination.

You know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

With the strength and power of this fire within you.

You feel the power of this flame infused within you.

Guiding and energizing you.

Take a few moments to simply bask in this feeling of strength and power.

Letting the fire cleanse and energize you.

Now begin to slowly step away from the flames.

Feeling the heat and warmth recede as you move further and further away.

Take a few deep breaths and feel your body relaxing and releasing any tension.

Allow yourself to feel grateful for this experience of fire.

And know that you can return to this place of strength and power anytime you need it.

Simply by closing your eyes and letting yourself become engulfed in the flames once again.

Take a deep breath in and focus on your sankalpa.

Remember the words or phrase that you chose and bring them to the forefront of your mind.

Take a moment and visualize yourself living out your sankalpa in your life.

Imagine what it feels like to have already achieved your intention.

And allow yourself to feel grateful for this experience.

Now repeat your sankalpa to yourself three times with conviction and belief.

Know that you have the power to manifest your deepest desires in your life.

And that your practice of Yoga Nidra can help you tap into that power.

Take one more deep breath and release your sankalpa.

Trust that it is already manifesting in your life.

And that you have taken a powerful step towards creating the life that you want.

Take another moment to thank yourself for dedicating this time to your own well-being.

As our practice here comes to a close,

Begin to bring your awareness back to your physical body.

Take a deep breath in and allow it to anchor you in the present moment.

Gently wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.

Allow your awareness to expand to include your entire body.

Notice your physical form.

The feeling of your clothes.

The air as it moves around you.

Take your time and continue to breathe as you begin to move your body in a way that feels right to you.

Stretch your arms.

Roll your shoulders.

Give yourself a gentle twist.

Take a moment to express gratitude for your body and all that it does for you.

Know that your body is a temple.

And that your practice of Yoga Nidra helps to strengthen the connection of your body to Source.

Take one final deep breath.

And when you are ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

Empowered as you carry this sense of peace and connection with you as you move forward through the rest of your day.

Thank you for joining me.
