Hi,

My name is Kelly Ayala and I'm a mental health and wellness professional.

I want to invite you to join me on just a little present moment awareness journey.

If your brain and your mind are as active as mine,

I know that sometimes that diving into these moments can be a little challenging.

So let's just meet ourselves exactly where we are.

Take a moment to notice what you're transitioning from.

Maybe it's from work.

Maybe it's from a yoga class.

Maybe you're waking up in the morning and just simply opening your eyes.

Take a moment to just notice where you came from and how you're arriving in just this moment.

Can you name the sensations that you're feeling in your body?

Tired,

Worn,

Open,

Invigorated,

Still,

Whatever the sensation is that you're noticing,

Even nothing.

Can you let that be okay?

See if you can meet yourself just where you are without changing,

Without judging,

But simply just acknowledging.

Now that we've taken a moment to just make friends or even a simple connection with ourself just as we're arriving,

I want to invite you to start to begin to develop some orientation to the space around you.

Take a moment to notice how you're sitting.

Can you feel the distribution of weight,

Maybe against your cheeks,

Your jaw,

The right shoulder,

The left shoulder,

Down the spine,

To the hips,

The sitz bones,

The legs,

The knees,

The ankles,

The sole of the foot,

The bottom of the foot,

And the toes.

Can you feel the outline of your body?

Notice where your internal space begins and how it meets the outside world.

As you begin to feel your shape,

Notice the world around you.

What can you see?

Maybe the floor,

Open space,

Walls,

Ceiling.

Just simply take in the space that you're in.

Notice how you land in this space and if your body can let it be okay to maybe find a soft focus on the floor or simply close down the eyes if this feels comfortable for you.

As your awareness begins to move more internal,

Begin to notice the path of your breath.

Following the breath through the nose,

The throat,

Chest,

And the belly.

And then follow the path back out through the belly,

Chest,

The throat,

And the nose.

Without our assistance,

The breath knows exactly how to move,

So instead of trying,

Can you invite in the experience of just observing the breath?

Let this be your anchor.

Let this be your connection to the present moment.

Anytime throughout your day,

You will always have your breath.

And when you need,

Just simply come back to this sensation of following the breath through the nose,

The throat,

The chest,

And the belly.

And then following that path back out from the belly,

The chest,

The throat,

And the nose.

While carrying the sensations of breath with you,

Maybe you can softly begin to open your eyes,

And while simultaneously holding the sensations of breath,

Can you notice what's around you now?

You come back to the shape,

Following the sensations,

Just noticing the sensations in the toes,

The ankle,

The legs,

The hips,

The spine,

The shoulders,

The cheeks.

And as you begin to prepare to move on to your next moment of the day,

Can you carry this sensation of breath with you wherever you go?

And if you happen to lose it or can't find it,

Just simply come back to the sensations,

The awareness.

I want to thank you for joining me today in this brief experience connecting to the present moment.

I hope you enjoyed our time today.

Take care,

Friends.
