Hello,
I'm Kate.
In this video I want to explain what gentle movement actually means for someone with very little energy to give.
This video is for anyone who's felt caught between pushing through exhaustion to stay active.
Or avoiding movement altogether because it feels like too much.
When energy is low,
There's often a sense that movement and rest are the only two options.
And that movement automatically means doing too much.
In reality,
There's a wide space between the two.
And learning to work within that space is one of the most useful skills for managing low energy over time.
Gentle movement in this context means finding the smallest possible amount of movement your body can do.
Without it costing you anything.
This isn't about building strength or fitness.
It's about giving the body a small,
Safe signal that movement is still possible without asking it to spend energy it doesn't have.
This might be something as small as slowly turning the head from side to side while lying down.
Or letting the shoulders rise and fall with the breath.
The scale of the movement matters far less than the principle behind it.
Move only as much as the body can absorb and stop the moment that that stops being true.
Comparing this kind of movement with the breath,
Particularly the exhale,
Often makes it easier to sense where that limit actually is.
Over time,
This approach can help prevent the stiffness and lower mood that sometimes comes from avoiding movement entirely.
Without requiring more from the body than it currently has to give.
If this has helped explain what gentle movement can look like on a low energy day,
Thank you for spending these minutes with me.
I really hope that you'll come back and try a practice for yourself when you're ready.
