Welcome friend,
I welcome you to this short energizing meditation.
Find a comfortable seat with me.
For this meditation,
I encourage you to stay seated if possible,
Maybe in a comfortable chair or seated on the ground,
Potentially supported by a wall.
When it feels comfortable to you,
Feel free to close your eyes or maybe softly lower your eyelids.
Let's take a deep breath in together and exhale.
Another energizing deep breath in through your nose,
Powerful out breath through your mouth.
Check in with your body,
Are your shoulders slumped?
Can you roll them back?
Are your hips feeling stuck?
Maybe give them a quick wiggle and then settle back in.
How about your feet?
Can you wake them up a little bit?
Wiggle your toes,
Maybe rotate your ankles and then settle them back down.
Stretch your arms out to the side.
Give me a nice big stretch overhead and release them back to your side or in your lap.
Deep breath in and out.
For the next breath in,
I want you to inhale through your nose as deep as you can and with the exhale,
Let's do lion's breath,
Opening your mouth wide,
Sticking your tongue out as far as we can and really letting it all out.
Inhale and exhale,
Lion's breath,
Tongue out,
Mouth wide.
Let's do two more of those,
Inhale,
Exhale,
Lion's breath.
One more,
Inhale,
Back to your normal breathing pattern.
As we get ready to make our way into the rest of our day,
Re-energized and ready to tackle whatever may come our way.
Remember,
You always have your breath,
You always have physical movement to help wake you up and to re-energize you.
Together let's slowly begin wiggling our fingers,
Maybe stretching out those hands.
Let's rock our heads side to side,
Stretching out your neck.
Take your arms,
Big stretch up towards the ceiling and slowly lower them back down.
And when you're ready,
Begin to slowly open your eyes.
