Welcome.
Today,
I will guide you through a chakra balancing meditation.
To begin,
Find a comfortable seat.
It can be a chair or in a cross-legged position.
And when you're ready,
Please close your eyes and orient your attention inward.
If it does not feel okay to close the eyes,
Just gaze downward so you can begin to reduce any external stimulation.
Let's turn up the internal volume and turn down that outside noise.
So,
Just allow your sit bones to be heavy,
Rooted,
Grounded.
Allow the spine to rise from the sit bones towards the sky.
Shoulders are stacked over the hips,
Ears over shoulders,
Chin slightly tucked in.
Start to engage the breath here.
Breathe in deeply through the nose and out through the tip of the nose.
Notice the cool sensation of the air as it enters the nose and notice the warmth as it leaves the tip of the nose.
Just let your breath lead the way.
Follow it on the inhale and the exhale.
And if your mind starts to wander during the meditation,
Just return to the breath and allow it to anchor you in the present moment.
Follow the rhythm of the breath.
Notice the air move in and out through the nose.
Now,
Scan your body and notice if there's any tension or tightness.
Give yourself permission to release and let go of any tension in the jaw,
Any gripping in the fingers or toes.
Allow the shoulders to melt down the spine and your conscious awareness to drop down to the root chakra,
The base of the spine.
We know that where your attention goes,
Energy flows.
So,
By bringing your conscious awareness to these energetic centers of the body,
We can awaken them and allow them to be less stagnant,
Less stuck and introduce more vitality to our internal state.
Next,
Notice the heaviness of the sit bones as they connect with the earth,
Plugging you in.
Allow yourself to be balanced from left to right side.
You can imagine roots growing from the sit bones down into the earth,
Really connecting you,
Allowing a feeling of stability and visualize yourself standing barefoot in a field to enhance this earth element of the root chakra.
Imagine the scent of the outdoors and breathe in the earthy trees and soil and tune into the color red like a clay terracotta.
Notice the qualities of the root chakra,
Stability,
Identity,
That knowing that your basic needs are met,
A feeling of security,
Both physically and emotionally.
Now,
Please move your awareness to the sacral chakra,
The pelvic bowl.
Visualize the color orange filling the pelvic bowl and the element of water.
Imagine the scent of water right after a rain.
Notice the fluidity that resides in the reproductive organs and tune into the qualities of sexuality,
Pleasure,
Creativity and self-worth that reside in the sacral chakra.
Allow your attention to move up the spine to the navel center,
The upper abdomen where the solar plexus chakra resides and visualize a yellow flame burning softly,
Illuminating the element of fire that exists in the solar plexus.
Imagine this flame lighting the fire that motivates you to take the action necessary to accomplish your goals.
Bring into your mind's eye the warmth of a fire on a cold winter day,
Lighting up your confidence,
Your personal power.
Bring your attention to rest on the heart chakra,
The center of the chest.
Visualize the color green filling the chest area and the element of air filling the lungs.
Imagine the qualities of love,
Compassion and the ability to connect to others through the heart chakra.
Allow your awareness to move to the throat chakra and visualize the color turquoise and the element of ether filling the area of the throat.
Ether is expansive,
It is empty and it has no resistance.
It's a clear channel that connects the mind to the body and enhances your ability to communicate,
To listen,
To speak with compassion and to be true to yourself with your words.
Bring your attention up to the third eye chakra,
The center of the forehead between the eyes.
Visualize the color indigo,
A deep blue purple.
Imagine the qualities of intuition,
Imagination and the ability to see things clearly.
It is through the third eye chakra that we can see the big picture,
To see what's really going on,
To listen to our own internal guidance,
Our internal wisdom.
Finally,
Allow your conscious awareness to rest at the crown,
The very top of the head and visualize the color violet.
The crown chakra holds our ability to tap into our awareness and our intelligence.
It is our connection to our spirituality and our life's purpose.
When balanced and open,
We can experience bliss and even enlightenment.
Now visualize all the chakras balanced in alignment,
Moving your awareness back down the body.
Start at the crown with the color violet,
The third eye indigo,
The throat turquoise,
The heart green,
The navel yellow,
The sacrum orange and the root red.
Mentally zoom out and see all the chakras stacked,
Aligned and open.
Now please bring your awareness back to the breath.
Connect with the inhale through the tip of the nose and exhale out the tip of the nose.
Let your breath lead the way and just be curious.
Follow it as it leads you.
Release any need to manipulate or control the breath and let it take its own natural flow.
Now scan the body,
Take inventory and notice if you feel any different from where you started.
If there is any place where you are holding or gripping,
Consciously release and let go.
Give yourself permission to let go of anything that is no longer serving you.
Take a few deep breaths here to transition back to your day and back to the present moment.
You can wiggle your fingers and your toes.
And bring this quality of balance in the mind and in the body back into your daily life.
Perhaps set an intention for your day and know that the stillness that you've cultivated is within you whenever you need it.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes.
