This practice is an opportunity to notice and befriend how you are feeling in this given moment. In the same way we check-in with our loved ones, we turn inwards to give ourselves the same attention and connection.

This is Janine Tandy and welcome into the practice.

In this offering there's an opportunity to connect into our now,

Whatever our felt experience is in our bodies,

Hearts,

And mind.

Because so often we tend to check in regularly with our friends and our loved ones asking them how they are,

How they're feeling in an honest way,

But we tend to leave ourselves out of that circle of connection,

That opportunity to befriend our experiences.

So let's begin together this wonderful opportunity to do just that.

So as you take a few purposeful breaths that allow you to start to turn inwards to your own experience,

There could be some adjustments to your seat so that there's a relaxed,

Alert quality of being.

Perhaps softening the shoulders away from the ears,

Widening the heart center,

Relaxing into your seat so that any rigidity or tension has an opportunity to soften away.

And then we can start to direct our attention first to our physical form,

Our bodies,

And taking some moments to notice how does it feel right now?

How are our bodies feeling?

So are we noticing any sensations that are drawing attention or any areas of the body that might be holding congestion?

Or maybe there's areas of spaciousness?

Are we noticing tiredness or energy?

Just taking your time to notice the felt experience of your body right now and letting go of the tendencies that sometimes can be present of judging or comparing so that we can soften into being a gentle witness to our own experience in our bodies,

Hearts,

And minds.

And we might feel several things at one time in our bodies and slowly over the next few breaths drawing your awareness to your heart center.

And if it helps to feel more connected you can even place one hand over the heart to feel into this space that houses our emotional seat.

And take time to notice what's present here.

What tones or feelings are a bit more topical or dominant?

Sometimes there's one thing that feels a little bit more voluminous.

Or we might be noticing a cascade of feeling tones depending on the things that are current in our life right now.

So just gently noticing without getting hooked into any one thing.

A lovely observer of our own experience.

And slowly drawing your awareness up to the forehead and what behind it is housing thinking mind.

So taking some breaths to notice what thoughts might be taking up a little bit more real estate right now in this moment.

There might be a narrative or a storyline that feels present or there could be a full notebook of to-do's or busyness.

And that's interesting to notice.

And just this gentle reminder that we're inviting in a witness to our experience and letting go of judging comparing.

Just noticing what's present.

And now widening the lens back to noticing the entire body as it is.

In whatever shape you're in right now.

Maybe feeling one more time into the sit bones or the length of the spine.

And taking a few more deep breaths of connection.

If it feels right placing the hands in front of the heart together or over the heart center.

Acknowledging what's been felt in the body,

Heart and mind one more time.

As this can help determine how you choose to then move throughout the rest of your day.

Honoring your experiences of now.

And taking one more slow inhale in and if it feels right a soft release of breath out through the mouth.

And thank you so much for taking time to practice with me today.

Take care.
