Begin standing quietly.
Allow your feet to rest about hip-width apart.
Let your arms hang naturally at your sides.
Bring your awareness inward.
Notice the simple experience,
Standing.
Allow the spine to lengthen softly upward,
Not stiff,
Not forced,
Just naturally rising.
Imagine the crown of your head suspended gently from above,
As though lifted by a fine silk thread.
Relax the shoulders.
Soften the chest.
Relax the jaw.
Allow the tongue to rest gently against the roof of the mouth.
Now bring awareness to the lower abdomen.
Four fingers below your navel.
This is the location of the lower Dan Tian.
Feel the breath settling there naturally.
Inhale softly into the lower abdomen.
And exhale slowly.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale,
The lower abdomen expands gently.
Exhale,
The body softens and relaxes.
Feel rooted below.
Suspended above.
Centered within.
Place your awareness inside the lower Dan Tian.
Imagine a warm sphere of soft light there.
Quiet,
Stable,
Alive.
As you inhale,
Feel the center gently expanding,
Not physically pushing outward,
Simply becoming more spacious.
As you exhale,
Feel the center softly condense inward.
Gathering.
Sadly.
Expansion.
And dancing.
Opening.
Closing.
Now begin slowly shifting your weight from one foot to the other,
Very gently.
Very slowly.
Notice where movement begins.
Do the legs move first?
Or does the movement begin deeper within the center?
Imagine the lower abdomen subtly guiding the shifting of weight.
The center initiates.
The body follows.
As the center moves.
The weight changes naturally.
As the center settles.
Body becomes rooted.
Allow the movement to become smooth and continuous.
No sharpness,
No interruption,
No sudden change.
Now bring awareness to the folds at the front of the hips.
This is the qua.
Allow this area to soften.
Not collapsing,
Not rigid,
Simply relaxed and open.
Feel the legs hanging beneath the pelvis,
Like pendulums suspended below the body.
Loose.
Responsive.
Alive.
Allow the knees to remain soft,
Never locked,
Never collapsed inward.
Feel the pelvis floating naturally between the legs,
Balanced,
Centered,
Supported.
Now gently shift weight again from one side to the other,
This time feeling the movement travel through the relaxed qua.
Notice how softening the hips changes the entire body.
The movement becomes smoother,
More connected,
More effortless.
Allow the spine to continue rising naturally upward.
The lower body soft,
The upper body light.
Rooted Below.
Suspended above.
Now take your first step,
Walking slowly,
Very slowly.
Before each foot moves,
Feel the center shift.
The Dan Tian moves first.
The body follows.
As the center settles into one leg,
That leg becomes full,
Rooted,
Stable.
The opposite leg becomes empty,
Light,
And free to move.
Movement begins from the center,
Not from the feet,
Not from the shoulders,
Not from effort The torso gently guides the body forward.
The limbs respond naturally.
Allow the arms to swing softly without forcing.
The arms are carried by the movement of the torso.
Feel the entire body moving as one connected unit.
There are no separate pieces,
Only one integrated structure.
As the heel touches the ground,
Feel the center settling.
As the body shifts,
Feel the spine floating upward.
All.
Relax.
Afterglasses.
Notice how little muscular effort is truly needed.
The body organizes itself naturally around the center.
Allow the breath to remain soft and quiet.
Naturally breathing,
Natural movement.
Walking becomes smooth.
Continues.
Blowing.
Like a wave.
The center leads.
The whole body follows.
Continue walking slowly.
Now feel the relationship between the feet,
The hips.
The spine.
And the center.
Everything connected.
Everything responding together.
The body moves as a single living system.
Allow unnecessary effort to dissolve.
No forcing.
No excessive tension.
Only flowing,
Coordinated movement.
The Earth supports you below.
The spine rises effortlessly above.
The center remains calm and stable.
Gradually allow the walking to slow.
Now taking smaller steps.
And slowly coming to stillness.
Standing now,
Place one hand over the other on your lower abdomen,
Over your lower dantian.
Feel the breath settling into the center once more.
Take a slow inhale.
Soft exhale.
Again.
Inhale gently into the lower abdomen.
Exhale slowly.
Feel the body balanced around the center.
Feel movement still echoing softly within you.
Warm.
Stable.
Connected.
Imagine the energy cultivated during this practice settling quietly into the Dantian.
Restored.
Refined.
Balanced.
Carry this centered awareness with you as you continue into the rest of your day.
