Hello.

Use this practice whenever you need to deepen or remember your connection to the earth and to the four elements that are both a part of you and supporting you.

You can use this time simply to relax and listen to the sound of my voice in the background,

Dropping in and out of the practice.

You can also follow along as close as you can,

Allowing your imagination and your direct experience to guide you.

Feel the connection of your body to the earth and the earth rising up to support you.

Scan where your body makes contact and feel the full support of the earth beneath you.

Whether it's day or night,

Feeling the heavens surrounding you.

Light from distant stars,

Including the sun,

Illuminating the moon or daylight shining down upon you.

This practice is offered to enhance your connection to the earth with a journey through the four elements.

I invite you now to imagine a soothing place in the natural world,

Real or imagined,

That offers you comfort.

If you're in a setting where you have access to taking in an image or the natural world outside your window,

You can work in this way too.

Connecting with the earth element first,

Perhaps you can picture foliage,

Ground,

Trees,

And rocks that might be in this peaceful place,

Its shapes and colors.

Connect to the solidity of the earth that supports you here and now.

See it clearly.

Is it day or night?

What season is it?

What is the temperature of the air?

Shifting to the air element through noticing the air here and now as you breathe in and out.

Remember your breath is connected to the air all around you.

What is the quality of the light?

During the day,

We can access the fire element through the sun's warmth.

At night,

A cozy fire might light our way.

In this moment,

Wherever you are,

Drifting to a place in your imagination,

Connecting with the environment that you're in,

You can connect to the fire element anywhere in your body where you feel warmth.

It could be the belly,

The heart.

You can enhance this connection to the warmth of your heart and your belly by placing hands here.

Emotions can run through us like fire.

Finally,

Consider the water element.

Perhaps it's present as a visual.

What do you see?

Is there light dancing on the water?

Are there waves gently lapping the shore?

Remember that your body is mostly water.

Maybe you can sense the water element in all that is fluid and flowing through your body.

Picture a body of water.

Feel the water within you.

Remember,

The planet is mostly water just like us.

Humidity in the air is present too.

Feel into these four elements that are a part of you.

Feel your connection to the earth once more.

You are earth,

Air,

Fire,

And water and connected to it all around you.

As we bring this practice to a close,

Feeling once more the support of the earth below,

The care of the light from the heavens above.

Be well and rest in the knowledge of your belonging.
