This is a grounding meditation for releasing that which no longer serves. Use this as a support tool when you are feeling unstable or unsupported. This is a visualization exercise to support you on your journey to the self.

Transcript

Come into a comfortable seat and close your eyes.

Feel your body supported by the earth beneath it.

Allow the surface that you're sitting on to hold you.

Feel the weight of your body.

Inhale through the nose and exhale,

Sigh it out.

Inhale,

Exhale,

Sigh.

Begin to imagine roots coming out of your body,

Connecting you to the earth,

Grounding down,

Reaching down through the floorboards,

Through the foundation,

Down through the soil,

All the way down through the earth,

Through the silent rivers,

The rocks,

The lava,

All the way down to the core.

Anything that isn't serving your highest self,

Allow it to be released down through these roots into the earth.

Mother Earth is a powerful being.

She can transmute the energy.

Let her.

Allow her to support you.

Continue to breathe and release.

Continue to give.

Allow this time to be yours of offering,

Yours of giving,

Releasing,

Letting go.

Breathe and let go.

Anything that comes up in this moment,

Can you just accept that it's showing up for you to notice and release?

It's not yours to solve.

You don't need all the answers.

Breathe and let go.

Breathe and release.

Begin to visualize the color red.

Red is the color of the root chakra.

Visualize the color red from your hips,

Your thighs,

Your knees,

Lower legs,

And feet.

Imagine this color radiating off of you.

Notice any textures associated with it,

Any feelings,

Any sensations.

What shade of red is it?

Is it solid or transparent?

Heavy or light?

Simply notice.

Inhale and exhale.

Turn up the frequency of the color.

Allow it to radiate out to its fullest potential and gently draw it back in,

Inviting it back into your root,

Withdrawing it from your feet,

Your lower legs,

Your knees,

Upper legs,

Hips.

Allow this color red to be pressed into a ball and stored in the center of your root.

As you inhale,

Notice it growing a little brighter,

Growing a little brighter,

And as you exhale,

The color draws in and dims.

Inhale brighter and exhale dims.

Notice how the breath changes.

Notice how the light shifts.

Your root chakra is where we go for safety,

Our security,

Our feelings of home.

When you're feeling off balance,

Unsettled,

Ungrounded,

Unsafe,

Pulled in too many directions,

Scattered,

Scattered.

Tune into your root chakra to bring yourself back for centering and grounding,

To presence yourself here.

Take a deep breath into your nose and sigh it out.

Imagine those roots that you planted down into the earth retracting into yourself.

Notice them lifting out of the core through the lava,

The silent rivers,

The rocks and the crust,

The grass and soil.

Back up through the foundation and through the surface that you're sitting or lying on and returning to home.

Gently open your eyes,

Bringing yourself back to this moment.
