Welcome to your guided meditation,
The Torch at the Crossroads.
This is a meditation for the October full moon on October 6th or 7th,
Depending on where you are in the world,
But it can also be a meditation to be used at any time when you feel yourself at a crossroads,
At a time of a closing,
A beginning,
A new path emerging,
Trying to determine the next steps in a situation.
So we will begin.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and release it slowly.
Feel your body,
Your energy body.
Take a moment to notice where your energy is,
Where your mind is.
And now ask yourself,
What position do I need to be in for this meditation?
How can I best receive?
Listen to what shows up and allow yourself to move into whatever position caught out to you.
Allow yourself to settle.
Take any movements that are necessary,
Grab any props or pillows,
Cover your eyes if that feels good for you,
Dim the lights.
Take time to really allow yourself to set up so that you can receive and drop fully into the experience.
You can pause this if you need additional time and we will begin.
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in and exhale,
Allowing yourself to land.
Let your body soften.
Allow your shoulders to drop and fall away from your ears.
Unclench your jaw.
Exhale.
Relax the tiny muscles around your eyes.
Feel yourself sink fully into the surface beneath you.
Breathe in and breathe out.
With every inhale and every exhale,
You release the weight of your day,
The weight of the moment,
And the weight of whatever you are carrying.
With every breath,
You become lighter,
Clearer,
And more open.
I'm going to count backwards for five to one.
And as I do,
I want you to imagine yourself becoming lighter and more clear and more free.
Two.
One.
Now cast yourself out and see yourself standing on a quiet path.
The air is cool and crisp with the night sky alive overhead and you see the glow of the full moon.
The world around you is hushed as if the world is holding its breath.
You begin to walk down the path,
The path that's lit by the moon.
You notice the earth beneath your feet.
As you venture down the path,
You see up ahead that it is coming to a crossroads where the path splits in three directions.
You come to the center of this and you look to your left,
To your right,
And in front of you.
You see what you see.
As you stand in this crossroads,
You notice a figure approaching you.
Notice what direction they're coming from.
They are cloaked in shadow,
Yet radiant with power.
You know right away that it is Hecate,
Guardian of the crossroads,
Torchbearer of the night and keeper of the keys.
In one hand,
She carries a torch.
Its flame burns steady,
Golden and alive.
In the other,
A ring of keys glimmers faintly in the moonlight.
Her presence is both fierce and comforting.
She comes to you as a reminder that you are never truly alone as you stand at the threshold.
She approaches you and looks into your eyes,
And as she does,
She places her torch in your hand.
You instantly feel its warmth travel through your fingers,
Up your arm,
And into your heart.
This flame is your light,
Your truth,
Your purpose,
Your power.
You take a moment to notice how the torch casts its light on the three paths before you.
One may look familiar,
One unknown,
And perhaps the other hidden in shadow.
You take a moment to see them clearly.
You take a moment to realize what each one means to you.
Hecate motions for you to choose a path.
She does not choose for you.
She stands with you,
And she reminds you as she holds out her key that the key turns only in your lock.
She hands it to you.
The torch burns only in your hand.
This choice,
This path,
Is yours to walk.
Breathe deeply.
Which path calls to you now?
What truth are you ready to carry forward?
What mask are you ready to shed?
You stand here in silence for a few moments,
Listening to your heart,
Feeling the weight of the keys in your hand,
And watching the flame.
When you are ready,
You begin to step forward.
You feel the earth beneath your feet.
You hear the whisper of the night air.
With each step,
The flame grows brighter.
You are no longer a seeker in the dark.
You are a torchbearer,
A guide,
And a light.
Hecate walks beside you,
Steady and sure.
With her presence,
You feel courage rise in your chest,
Knowing that you are already exactly where you are meant to be in this moment,
On this path.
The choice was clear,
And the decision is final.
Take one more moment to stand here with her on the path that you have chosen,
To see the situation as it is and as it isn't any longer.
You ask,
What steps do I take next?
How do I move forward on this path in my life?
What direction do I need to take?
You listen for the answer.
Exhale,
Imagine the flame of the torch moving inward and settling into your heart.
When you return,
The flame of the torch will continue to burn inside of you.
Exhale,
Feel the flame in your chest.
Feel it rising to your throat,
To your third eye,
And out of your crown.
With every inhale,
The flame grows brighter.
With every exhale,
The path becomes more clear.
When you are ready,
You begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes,
Allowing yourself to return to your body,
Your breath,
And your space.
As you open your eyes,
You know that you carry Hecate's torch with you always,
Because the flame is yours,
The path is yours,
And you are ready.
Please take a moment to write down anything that came up for you in that journey.
If you need to pause this to do so,
Take whatever time you need.
Beloved Hecate,
Torchbearer of the night,
Guardian of the keys,
Keeper of the crossroads,
We thank you for walking with us tonight,
For your guidance,
Your flame,
Your protection,
Your truth.
We honor the torch you have placed in our hands.
May it continue to burn within us,
Lighting our path forward,
Illuminating our authentic selves,
And guiding us with courage through shadow and flame.
We thank the radiant Aries full moon for igniting our spirit,
For urging us into boldness,
And for reminding us that endings open the way for new beginnings.
As we close this circle,
We carry the flame and the fire within.
The crossroads are always open,
But tonight we step forward renewed,
Guided by light,
Grounded in truth,
And blessed by the goddess of the threshold.
And so it is.
And so it is.
And so it is.
Blessed be.
Blessed be.
Blessed be.
Aho.
Awen.
Os.
Have a great evening.
Goodbye.
