Please make yourself comfortable,

And you can choose to close your eyes now or later on,

It's entirely up to you,

And you can just listen quietly to the sound of my voice,

And you may sometimes be aware of other sounds,

Sounds inside the room you're in now,

Or sounds from outside,

But these sounds won't disturb you,

In fact,

They're going to help you to relax even more,

As the only sound you need to think about is the sound of my voice,

And as you're listening to the sound of my voice,

You can simply allow yourself to be as lazy as you could ever want to be,

Just allow yourself to be as lazy as you could ever want to be,

And as you're relaxing there in bed,

Just be aware of your body,

And where they rest on the bed,

Maybe noticing the angle of your elbows,

Or maybe sensing the weight of your head against the pillow,

And you know that weight might seem to just gently increase,

As you allow yourself to relax more and more,

Just being aware of your feet and ankles now on the bed,

And I'm wondering if they'll start to feel heavy too,

As you relax,

Thinking about your breathing for a few moments,

And noticing your breathing is becoming slower and steady,

As you relax more and steadier,

Breathing so steadily and evenly,

Just as though you're pretending to be sound asleep,

Breathing so evenly,

So steadily,

You almost wouldn't disturb a feather placed immediately in front of you,

Breathing so easily and slowly,

And as you allow yourself to relax even more now,

I wonder if maybe you can sense the beating of your own heart,

And just seeing whether you can use the power of your mind,

Slow that heartbeat down,

Just as you allow yourself to relax even more now,

Seeing if you can use the power of your mind,

To slow your heartbeat down just a little,

So that you can feel your whole body,

As you have got nothing to do,

Except relax now,

Nobody wants anything,

Nobody needs anything,

Just allow your whole body,

And you can gradually become more aware of your whole self,

Aware of your hands and feet,

Just sensing now,

Just sensing,

So I'm wondering if it's possible to relax them even more,

To be so in touch with yourself,

That you can actually get your whole body to relax even more,

And noticing how your face muscles can start,

And letting go of the tensions that were there,

Just being vaguely aware of the skin and the muscles of your face,

And smoothing out,

And now,

Such a good feeling,

And just wondering where it all came from in the first place,

But knowing that you simply couldn't care less,

And because you can feel it draining away from you now,

To sense the beating of your heart,

And the absolute steadiness of your body's rhythm,

And you wonder at the fact that you are so absolutely relaxed,

That you simply don't want to try to move even one single muscle,

Even though you know you could,

If you wanted to,

But you simply can't be bothered to even try,

Allowing yourself so lazy and relaxed as anyone,

And I wonder if you can now manage to relax even more,

Even though you're already as relaxed as it's possible for most people to ever be,

And in a few moments,

I'm going to ask you to use the power of your innermost mind to imagine a certain thing,

And it doesn't matter if you find you can't imagine all the things I'm asking you to,

And you might even find your mind wandering a bit,

So that my voice just fades into the background of your mind,

But that doesn't matter either,

Because the sound of my voice is going to continue to relax you,

And so,

It really doesn't matter if you don't hear a word I say,

Because very soon now,

You are going to be more relaxed than you have ever known,

And my voice will be heard clearly by your subconscious mind,

Which enables you to accept new suggestions for behavior that will only benefit you tonight,

Tomorrow,

And every day in the future.

So,

Now,

I would like you to start to imagine yourself on a deserted beach.

It's perfectly safe,

Perfectly secure,

And you're the only person there,

And it's a beautiful sunny day.

You can hear the sounds of the waves as they lap against the shore.

You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin.

The temperature is just right for you.

You can smell the fresh,

Salty air.

You find yourself a comfortable place to rest,

To just sit and gaze out across the sea to the horizon,

And as you look across the ocean,

A faint haze makes it challenging for you to see exactly where the sky meets the sea,

And as you relax and watch the horizon,

You notice a small,

White cloud appear.

It drifts high in the sky,

Gently towards you,

A beautiful,

Fluffy ball of white in the pale,

Clear blue sky,

Growing larger as it approaches.

And you know deep down that this cloud is meant just for you,

To bring you a special moment of release,

And it drifts serenely above you until it's immediately overhead,

And you somehow know just by instinct that you can allow all your worries towards this white cloud.

And if you look carefully,

You can actually see them drifting away from you,

A slow spiral,

Just spiraling away from you,

Towards this pure,

White cloud.

And this cloud absorbs all of your worries into itself,

Swallowing up all your anxieties,

And as it does,

It becomes steadily darker until just as it reaches its darkest,

And just as that very last part of the spiral of your worries and cares disappear inside it,

The sun bursts through,

Dispelling every one of your worries,

Every one of your fears,

Every one of your anxieties,

Leaving you and completely relaxed,

Without a single care in the world.

Now all your troubles and cares have floated away from you,

And you settle yourself down into a comfortable position there on that beach,

And drift off into a deep,

Relaxing sleep.

And while you sleep,

You have a dream.

You dream you're walking down a long corridor,

Stretching away in front of you,

And so far,

You can't actually see the ends of it,

But you know that this corridor,

Within the very depths of your subconscious mind,

In the part of your mind,

Is just what to do,

And just how to do it.

And as you begin to move gently along this corridor,

Becoming even more relaxed,

Even more lazy,

You notice time and space are beginning to lose their meaning,

And slowly the walls of the corridor start to dissolve,

Leaving you in a large,

Open room.

And this room is full of a gentle golden light that relaxes you still further.

And you may still find all kinds of random thoughts and ideas and new feelings entering your awareness before they simply drift out again.

And so,

As time goes by,

Those thoughts and ideas become more and more misty and vague,

And you seem to hear what I say less,

And my voice seems far away.

And it will seem that my voice is becoming more distant,

And you seem to hear my voice less,

And less,

And less,

Until in a very short while,

You feel yourself and comfortably floating away,

Deep down,

Deep down into a comfortable feeling,

Deep down within you,

Completely down into a sound,

Natural sleep.

You are drifting,

Everything drifting away,

Comfortable sleep.

From this moment on,

You are able to drift off to sleep,

It's the right time for you to sleep,

And as the tension drains out of your body,

Tension fading away,

Anxieties drifting away,

Away to your special cloud,

You drift off,

Easily,

Naturally,

Deeply,

To a comfortable sleep,

A deep,

Comfortable,

Healing sleep,

A deep,

A relaxing,

Healing sleep,

A restful,

Relaxing,

Healing sleep.
