Welcome and thank you for being here.
Before we begin,
I want to share a few words about what this meditation is and who it is for.
This practice was created for people whose bodies have changed through surgery,
Illness,
Injury,
Or medical treatment.
It may resonate with those who have experienced amputation,
Mastectomy,
Hysterectomy,
Any other organ removal,
Reconstruction,
Or any physical transformation connected to identity.
Body-based meditations can feel complicated after physical change.
Many traditional body scans assume symmetry and intact anatomy,
Which can unintentionally deepen grief or disconnection.
This meditation takes a different approach.
Rather than focusing only on physical structure,
We will explore the idea of an energetic blueprint,
A subtle pattern or organizing intelligence that shaped the bodies and may be still sensed even when tissue has changed.
You do not need to hold any particular belief for this to be meaningful.
You are simply invited to notice sensations,
Memories,
And presence in a self-directed way.
Emotions may arise during this practice.
You may feel warmth,
Numbness,
Phantom sensation,
Spaciousness,
Sadness,
Gratitude,
Or very little at all,
And all responses are welcome.
You are encouraged to move at your own pace and skip any portion that feels overwhelming.
This is not about forcing acceptance,
But about honoring continuity beneath the transformation.
Whenever you feel ready,
We will begin.
Take a position that feels supported for you and sustainable for the next few minutes.
Allow your body to settle exactly as it is today.
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze and take a slow deep breath in,
Followed by a long exhale.
Take another deep breath in and feel the expansion across your chest.
Slowly exhale,
Softening the jaw and the shoulders.
Feel the weight of your body being received by the surface beneath you.
Let gravity hold you.
Bring awareness to the lower part of your body now.
Allow your attention to move through your hips,
Legs,
And feet,
Or to the space where a limb once existed.
Rather than searching for the absence,
Sense into the field surrounding that area.
Notice any sensations that may be present.
This could feel like warmth,
Cool,
Tingling.
It can also feel like pressure,
Or can even evoke memories.
Just simply observe what comes up for you.
Imagine now that beneath the physical structure of your body exists a subtle architecture,
An energetic blueprint that once organized every cell and may still inform your presence.
If a limb has been removed,
Gently sense the energetic extension where it once reached outward.
Perhaps you sense a faint outline,
Or maybe a current of light.
It could also just be a quiet awareness of the limb itself.
Allow yourself to recognize this continuity that exists beyond the form.
Silently now offer gratitude to the energy that shaped this part of you and continues in unseen ways.
Now allow awareness to travel to your pelvis and lower abdomen.
This region often holds identity and personal meaning.
Sense into that inner landscape without trying to overanalyze it.
If an organ connected to identity or fertility has been altered or removed,
Imagine a gentle field of light occupying that space now,
Representing the intelligence that once organized the tissue and continues as an imprint and story.
See if you can breathe softly into this area.
With each breath,
Acknowledge the life that moved through this space before and offer gratitude for the energetic imprint that remains part of you.
Next,
Let the breath rise into the abdomen and internal organs that digest and sustain life.
Sense the subtle coherence beneath them.
Bring awareness to your chest.
If this area has changed through surgery or illness,
Imagine the energetic form of what once was,
Recognizing continuity within the transformation.
Sense your heart's field extending beyond your skin and bones.
Feel your lungs expanding into the space around you.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Continue to breathe in and out at a natural pace.
Offer gratitude for the unseen architecture supporting your breath and circulation.
Now let's move our attention to your shoulders and your arms.
If part of an arm is absent,
Sense the energetic presence extending beyond the physical boundary that exists.
Imagine light continuing outward in the shape that once reached,
Held,
And touched.
Notice that the impulse to connect and express still lives within you.
Now widen your awareness to include your entire body,
Its physical structure,
The scar tissue that may exist,
Any possible prosthetics,
Or altered anatomy,
And surrounding all of it,
The energetic field that holds you as one continuous presence.
You can repeat silently,
My body has transformed and the essence of me remains.
The blueprint of my being continues to live within and around me.
Slowly start to move your fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
And begin to notice the room around you.
Feel the air touching your skin and any sounds nearby.
You may place a hand over an area of your body that has transformed or over your heart.
Take one deep breath in and release Before you open your eyes,
Gently reflect on What does gratitude for my body look like right now?
Allow this question to rest without needing to answer it immediately.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Carry this inquiry with you,
Letting it unfold in its own time.
Thank you for being here.
