Welcome to the release ceremony visualization.
Find yourself a comfortable position,
Sitting or laying down,
Whatever feels good for your body at the moment.
Take a moment to settle and feel how well your body is being supported from the surface beneath you.
Close your eyes,
Take a deep breath in and let it out with a sign.
Release any tension you are holding,
Soften your jaw,
Drop your shoulders,
Simply settle in.
Today we are here for a ceremony,
The release ceremony.
This is where you finally let go of an emotion you have been carrying since childhood.
Before we begin,
I want you to choose which emotion you are ready to release today.
Don't overthink it,
Your body knows.
Is it rage,
Terror,
Grief or shame?
Whatever comes to your mind,
That's the one,
Trust it.
Now imagine that you are standing in a secret circular space.
You might be outdoors in nature,
Maybe by the ocean,
In the forest or in the mountain.
Or you might be in a temple with ancient stones and soft candlelights.
However it appears for you,
It's perfect.
This space was created specifically for you to do this work.
To release that emotion that you have been holding in you.
In the center of the circle there is a fire,
It's a burning,
Sturdily warm and bright.
This is a sacred fire and it has the power to transmute emotion.
To take what you have been carrying and transform it into energy,
Light,
Freedom.
Walk towards the fire,
Feel the warmth in your skin as you get closer.
Now look down in your hands.
In your hands you are holding something heavy.
It might look like a stone,
A box,
A weight,
Chains,
A bundle wrapped in clothes.
However it appears,
This represents the emotion you have been carrying.
Feel the weight of it in your hands.
This is how much energy it's taken to hold this emotion for all those years.
To keep it content,
To carry it with you everywhere.
Notice where do you feel this weight in your body right now.
Is it in your chest?
In your shoulders?
In your stomach?
In your throat?
Breathe into that place.
Now I want you to look at what you are holding and name it out loud or in your mind.
And repeat after me.
This is the rage I have been carrying since I was insert your age,
Old.
Or this is the terror I have been carrying since I was insert your age,
Old.
This is the grief I have been carrying since I have been insert your age,
Old.
This is the shame I have been carrying since I was insert your age,
Old.
Speak it.
Name it.
Witness it.
And then say,
I have carried this long enough.
Today I release it.
Today I let it go.
Not to deny that it happened,
But to complete the cycle.
To free the energy that has been locked in holding this.
To reclaim my aliveness.
As you say this,
You notice figures begin to appear around the perimeter of the circle.
These are your witnesses,
Your supporters.
Maybe you see your future self.
The version of you who has released this and is living freely.
Maybe you see ancestors who carry similar wounds and are here to witness you completing what they couldn't.
Maybe you see guides,
Angels,
Or simply loving presence who are here to hold space for you.
Who are here to hold space for your release.
You are not alone in this.
Turn to face the fire.
Hold the weight in your hands.
The physical representation of the emotion you have been carrying.
And now I'm going to guide you through an actual release.
This is a somatic process,
Which means your body will be involved.
You may need to move,
Make sounds,
Shake,
Cry,
Or express in a way that feels unfamiliar.
That's not only okay,
That's actually necessary.
So let's begin.
If you're releasing rage,
Feel the rage in your hands.
In your body.
Let yourself connect with how angry you are about what happened.
How unfair it was.
How wrong it was.
How powerless you felt.
Now imagine that the fire is giving you permission to express this rage safely.
You're able to move.
I want you to push against something,
A wall,
A floor,
An air in front of you.
Push with all your strength.
Push as you're finally fighting back against what hurts you.
Push as if you're protecting your younger self.
Push,
And if sounds want to come,
Growing,
Yelling,
Roaring,
Let it.
Your body has been wanting to do this for years.
Push for 10 seconds,
20 seconds,
30 seconds.
Let the rage move through your arms,
Your hands,
Your whole body.
And then throw the weight you're holding into the fire.
Watch it land in the flames.
And as it burns,
The rage is begin to transmit.
Released.
You're not becoming the rage.
You're letting it move through you and out.
If you're releasing a terror,
Feel the terror in your hands.
In your body.
Let yourself connect with how scared you were.
How unsafe you felt.
How long you were in that fear.
And now imagine that the fire is creating safety for you to finally feel and release this terror.
You're able to move.
You want to shake.
If you're able to move,
I want you to shake.
Literally shake your body,
Shake your hands,
Shake your arms and legs.
Like you're shaking off the freeze response that locked the terror in.
Animals in the wild do this after escaping a danger.
They shake to discharge the fear of their nervous system.
You're doing the same.
Shake for 10 seconds,
20 seconds,
30 seconds.
Let your whole body vibrate with the release.
And then throw the weight you're holding into the fire.
Watch it burn.
And as it burns,
The terror is being released.
Your nervous system is completing the cycle.
You're safe now.
The danger has passed.
You survived.
If you're releasing grief,
Feel the grief in your hands.
In your body.
Let yourself connect with what you lost.
What you didn't get.
What you had to let go of too soon.
The sadness that's been waiting to be acknowledged.
Now imagine that the fire is holding space for your grief.
There is room for all of it.
If you're able to move,
I want you to let your body collapse forward slightly.
Let your head drop.
Let your shoulders round.
And if tears want to come,
Let them.
If sounds of crying want to emerge,
Whirling,
Sobbing,
Keening,
Let them.
Your body has been waiting to grieve.
To release the sadness.
To complete the mourning.
Stay here as long as you need.
10 seconds.
20 seconds.
30 seconds.
A minute.
Let the grief move through you.
And then,
When you're ready,
Throw the weight you're holding into the fire.
Watch it burn.
As it burns,
The grief is being honored.
Witnessed.
Released.
What you lost mattered.
And now you can let the heaviness of carrying it alone finally go.
If you're releasing shame,
Feel the shame in your hands,
In your body.
Let yourself connect with the feeling that something was wrong with you.
That you were too much or not enough.
That you had to hide or shrink or perform to be acceptable.
Now imagine that the fire is burning away in the light.
Because shame is always a lie.
There was never anything fundamentally wrong with you.
If you're able to move,
I want you to start in small,
Contracted position.
Curled up,
Head down.
Making yourself small.
And then slowly begin to open up.
Uncurl.
Lift your head.
Stretch your arms wide.
Take up space.
Expand.
As you do this,
Say out loud or in your mind,
There's nothing wrong with me.
There never was.
I'm worthy exactly as I am.
Expand fully.
Stretch as wide as you can.
Reclaim your space.
And then,
Throw the weight you have been holding into the fire.
Watch it burn.
As it burns,
The shame is being incinerated.
Dissolved.
You're reclaiming your inner worthiness.
And for everyone,
Regardless of which emotion you release,
Watch the fire burn away what you have been carrying.
See the weight dissolving in the flames.
Turning to ash.
Turning into smoke that releases and dissipates into air.
It's gone.
Released.
You're no longer carrying it.
And now,
Notice.
How does your body feel?
Does it feel lighter?
More open?
Maybe tender or tired?
Shaky or relieved?
All of those responses are normal.
You just did something your body has been needing to do for years,
Possibly decades.
Place both of your hands on your heart.
Take a deep breath.
And say.
I release this emotion.
I complete the cycle.
I reclaim the energy that was locked in holding it.
I'm free now.
Now look around the sacred circle.
The witnesses.
Your future self.
Your ancestors.
Your guides.
They're all nodding.
Acknowledging you.
Honoring what you just did.
Your future self steps forward.
They're smiling.
They look vibrant,
Alive,
At peace.
They say to you.
You did it.
You released what you have been carrying.
And now,
Watch what happens.
They reach into the fire and pull something out.
It doesn't burn them.
It's pure,
Transformed energy now.
They hand it to you.
It's a glowing orb of light.
Warm,
Radiant,
Pulsing with life.
And they say to you.
This is for you,
Future self.
This is the energy that was locked in carrying that emotion.
All these years of holding it.
Containing it.
Managing it.
That took energy.
And now that energy is free.
And you get to use it for loving.
For creating.
For joy.
For aliveness.
Take the orb of light.
Hold it into your hands.
Feel its warmth.
Its vitality.
And then,
Bring it to your heart.
Press it onto your chest.
Let it merge with you.
Feel it spreading through your entire body.
Feeling the space that heavy emotion used to occupy.
Feeling you.
Feeling you with light.
Energy.
Aliveness.
Possibility.
This is what was underneath the pain.
This is what was waiting.
Take a deep breath.
Let the light settle into every cell.
Your future self places their hands on your shoulder.
And say,
This is just the beginning.
You may need to come back to this fire again.
There may be more layers of this emotion to release.
Or other emotions awaiting.
But today,
You did the work.
You broke the seal.
You provided to yourself that you can feel it.
Release it.
And survive.
In fact,
More than survive.
Thrive.
Thank your future self.
Thank the witnesses around your circle.
Thank the sacred fire.
And begin to walk out of the circle.
As you leave,
The circle begins to fade.
But the light you integrated,
That stays with you.
You're back to your body now.
In the present moment.
But you're different.
Lighter.
Freer.
The emotion you were carrying is being released.
The energy that was locked in holding it.
It's yours now.
To use it for living.
And now,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to the room where you are.
Feel your body.
Notice your breath.
Wiggle your toes and fingers.
You might feel tender,
Raw,
Emotional.
That's normal.
You just released something that has been stored for a long time.
Be gentle with yourself.
Drink some water.
Rest.
Journal.
Move slowly.
And know this.
You're not the same person you were before this ceremony.
You have released what you have been carrying.
And now,
You're free.
When you're ready,
Gently open up your eyes.
