Enneagram type sixes are loyal,
Responsible,
And security focused.
They seek safety and support,
Often scanning for potential threats or inconsistencies.
Sixes can be cautious or rebellious,
Sometimes facilitating between trust and suspicion.
They may struggle with anxiety and self-doubt,
But at their best they are courageous,
Grounded,
And faithful advocates for others.
Each type six is shaped by one of the three instinctual subtypes,
Self-preservation,
Social,
Or one-to-one,
Which influence how this type navigates fear and trust.
I invite you to go deeper into your own unique expression of being a type six.
Let yourself arrive,
Not with all the questions answered,
Not with every plan in place,
But simply as you are.
You do not need to figure it all out right now.
You are allowed to exhale.
If it feels supportive,
Let your gaze soften or close your eyes.
Notice your body.
What is touching the ground or the surface beneath you?
Take a breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth slowly,
Steadily.
You are here.
You are safe.
You are not alone.
Hear these words from the Psalms.
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore,
We will not fear,
Though the earth should change.
Let that truth settle in you.
God is not only near when things are calm.
God is present in the unknown.
Even when your mind is scanning for threat,
Even when your body holds tension or doubt,
God does not flinch.
God remains.
You are not asked to be fearless.
You are invited to trust.
As a type 6,
Your commitment to community,
To faithfulness,
And to responsibility is remarkable.
You are loyal,
Thoughtful,
And courageous,
Especially when others are in need.
You often notice what others miss.
Risks,
Inconsistencies,
Unspoken concerns.
You think ahead.
You care deeply about security,
About protecting what matters.
This is a gift to your leadership and to those you serve.
And yet,
Beloved,
This gift can come at a cost.
You may feel torn between trust and skepticism.
You may scan for what could go wrong.
Unsure who or what is truly reliable.
You may feel the pressure to be prepared for everything.
But hear this.
Your safety does not come from constant vigilance.
Your security does not depend on always being ready.
You are not alone in caring at all.
The one who made you holds you.
Even when fear arises.
Even when certainty slips through your fingers.
You are anchored in love.
These gentle questions are not meant to be solved.
Just noticed.
Where have I been relying on fear rather than trust?
What or who has felt like a steady presence in my life lately?
Where is God asking me to let go of control and lean into courage?
Let these questions work within you.
No judgment.
Just awareness.
Begin with your body.
Where are you holding tension?
What part of your body is gripping,
Guarding,
Or preparing?
Can you invite even a 5% release in that place?
Now your heart.
What emotions are present?
Perhaps anxiety?
Loyalty?
Tenderness?
Longing?
Let them be held without rushing to solve.
And your head.
What thoughts are looping?
What stories are your mind rehearsing about safety,
Belonging,
Or responsibility?
Gently bring your body,
Heart,
And head into connection.
And take a final breath in.
And a long,
Grounding breath out.
Beloved,
You are not the guardian of every outcome.
You are not responsible for predicting the future.
You are not alone.
You are supported.
You are trusted.
You are loved.
May you rest in the truth that you do not journey alone.
And as you move through your day,
May you pause when fear arises.
And remember that trust is always available.
You are safe.
You are held.
You are free to choose courage.
Amen.
