Welcome to this chakra meditation inspired by Celtic spirituality.
Find a comfortable seated position either on a cushion with legs crossed or if you prefer in a chair with your feet firmly planted on the ground,
Letting the eyes close gently,
Taking a few slow deep breaths,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth,
Letting go of any tension or tightness in the body.
Let us begin then by grounding ourselves in the natural world,
The sacred land of our ancestors.
In Celtic spirituality we are connected to the elements,
The land,
The sea,
The sky and each part of our body reflects in some way the sacred energies of the earth.
As we move through the chakras in this meditation we call upon the ancient forces of the Celtic realms to heal,
Balance and empower us.
We begin with the root chakra,
The muladhara,
The earth or ancre.
Visualize your root chakra now as a red glowing orb at the base of your spine,
Connecting you to the earth beneath you.
In Celtic tradition this is the place of the sacred land,
The bones of the ancestors and the fertile soil.
I call upon the strength of the sacred earth,
The hills and valleys,
The forests and the stones.
As I root myself in the ancient land of my ancestors I am grounded and safe.
My roots reach deep into the earth,
Drawing in nourishment and stability.
I am one with the sacred land.
Feel the grounding energy rise up through your body,
Steadying you.
And now we move to the sacred chakra,
Svadhisthana,
The waters,
Ahishki.
Move your attention to the lower abdomen where your sacred chakra resides.
Visualize this chakra now as a bright orange light flowing like water.
In Celtic spirituality this is the realm of the sacred waters,
Rivers,
Lakes and the sea.
I call upon the sacred waters,
The flowing rivers,
The ancient wells and the great ocean.
I am connected to the rhythm of the tides and the flow of life.
My emotions flow freely like water,
Cleansing and purifying me.
I embrace the ebb and flow of all that is within me.
Feel the cool cleansing energy of water moving through you,
Washing away any emotional blockages.
And now the solar plexus,
Manipura,
The sun,
Angriyam.
Bring your attention now to your solar plexus,
That small spot just above the belly button but below the rib cage,
The center of your will and personal power.
Visualize it as a glowing yellow light,
Like the radiant sun.
In Celtic spirituality the sun is the giver of life,
Warmth and light.
I call upon the power of the sun,
The shining light that rises every day over the sacred hills.
The fire of the sun burns within me,
Fueling my passion and purpose.
I am strong and confident,
Filled with the radiant energy of life itself.
Feel the warmth of the sun in your solar plexus,
Igniting your personal power and vitality.
Moving now to the heart chakra,
Anahata,
The sacred tree on crown nepha.
Focus now on your heart center,
Glowing with a bright green light.
The heart chakra is the bridge between earth and sky.
And in Celtic tradition,
The sacred tree is a symbol of this connection.
I call upon the sacred tree,
Whose roots reach deep into the earth and whose branches stretch towards the heavens.
My heart is open and I am connected to all living things.
I give and receive love freely,
Like the eternal cycle in nature.
I am rooted in love and compassion.
Feel the expansive loving energy filling your heart,
Connecting you to all beings.
We move to the throat chakra,
Vishuddha,
The wind on gout.
Move your attention to your throat,
Where your voice and your truth reside.
Visualize a bright blue light.
In Celtic spirituality,
This is the realm of the wind,
The breath of life and the carrier of sacred words.
I call upon the sacred wind,
The breath of the ancestors and the whisper of the divine.
Through the wind,
I speak my truth with clarity and courage.
My voice is strong and I express my inner wisdom with ease.
I am in harmony with the flow of air and spirit.
Feel the gentle wind of your breath as it flows through your throat,
Opening your ability to communicate clearly.
And now the third eye chakra,
Ajna,
The moon,
Angelach.
Now bring your focus to the center of your forehead,
Between your eyebrows.
Visualize a deep indigo light,
Representing insight and intuition.
In Celtic tradition,
The moon governs the realms of dreams,
Visions and intuition.
I call upon the sacred moon,
The silver light that guides me through the darkness.
My inner vision is clear and I trust my intuition.
I see beyond the physical world into the mysteries of spirit.
I honor the wisdom of my ancestors and the guidance of my inner self.
Feel the soft glowing light of the moon illuminating your third eye,
Enhancing your inner wisdom.
And so to the crown chakra,
Sahasrara,
The sky,
Anshpear.
Focusing now on the top of your head,
Your crown chakra,
Visualize a brilliant violet or white light opening to the sky above.
In Celtic spirituality,
The sky represents the infinite,
The divine and the connection to the cosmos.
I call upon the sacred sky,
The endless vault of the heavens.
I am connected to the divine source,
The great mystery that surrounds us all.
My spirit soars freely like a bird in the open sky and I am one with the universe.
I receive guidance and inspiration from the cosmos.
Feel the expansive energy of the sky opening your crown chakra,
Connecting you to the infinite.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and a lovely,
Leisurely,
Slow exhale.
Feel the energy of the earth,
The water,
The sun,
The wind,
The moon and the sky flowing through you,
Balancing and harmonizing each of your chakras.
You are deeply connected to the ancient forces of the Celtic world,
To nature and to the divine.
May the sacred land,
The flowing waters,
The radiant sun,
The whispering wind,
The guiding moon and the infinite sky bless and protect me on my journey.
I am one with all that is,
Grounded in the wisdom of my ancestors and guided by the light of the divine.
When you are ready then,
Slowly open your eyes,
Bring a little slow,
Gentle,
Intentional movement to the body.
And feeling centered,
Peaceful and empowered,
You are ready to bring this calm,
Clarity and focus into the rest of your day.
